Like Perry, Like Cain, Newt won’t last. The fact that he is linked to Freddie Mac will destroy him in the eyes of the Conservative Republicans. But that’s just the tip of the Ice berg. Newt‘s past shows us a man who is so shady, inconsistent and irresponsible that no one really knows who he is and what he stands for. Newt will be gone soon.

And Romney sits back and laughs while watching his opponents implode. What a circus.

300g Penalty House Panel Votes 7-1 To Reprimand Gingrich

BY RICHARD SISK DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

    Saturday, January 18, 1997
WASHINGTON Embattled House Speaker Newt Gingrich was socked last night with an unprecedented $300,000 penalty and a reprimand for masterminding a fund-raising shell game.
The sanctions were ratified by the House ethics committee on a bi-partisan vote of 7 to 1. A formal House vote is scheduled for Tuesday.
"This is a tough penalty. I believe it is an appropriate penalty," Rep. Nancy Johnson (R-Conn.), the committee chairwoman, said as the vote was announced.
A (*)(*)(*)(*)ing report by James Cole, special counsel to the ethics committee, stopped just short of urging Gingrich's ouster as speaker. But the severity of the proposed sanctions no House member has ever been hit with a penalty of such magnitude was expected to bolster the pressure on the Georgia Republican to step aside.

In about a week, we've gone from Newt Gingrich saying during a debate that he was paid $300,000 to dispense wisdom to Freddie Mac "as a historian" to his firm being paid nearly $2 million by the mortgage-financing giant for the former House speaker to provide "strategic advice." There's no telling what added details another

Our goal has to be for 100 percent of the country to be in the insurance system," he said. "So that means finding ways through tax credits and through vouchers so that every American can buy insurance including, I think, a requirement that if you're above a certain level of income you have to either have insurance or post a bond."

There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate," said Gingrich during an interview with CBN's David Brody. "What I can tell you is that when I did things that were wrong, I wasn't trapped in situation ethics, I was doing things that were wrong, and yet, I was doing them," he continued, going on to say that he had sought "God's forgiveness. Not God's understanding, but God's forgiveness."

1 In 2008, Newt Gingrich did a television commercial with Nancy Pelosi in which he stated that they both agree that “our country must take action to address climate change”. He now calls making this commercial “a mistake”, but this is yet another example of the lack of sound judgment that Gingrich has shown throughout his entire political career….

Gingrich didn't just get divorced, he also cheated on both of his first two wives. And furthermore, he left both of them when they were sick. As Talking Points Memo's
