It is unbelievably dishonest for many here to pretend this is about a Constitutional right. Its not. No one's rights are being infringed by not allowing private employee anti white racists to insult the public watching them. This is a private company dealing with a private issue in the public forum. The only question is how long will they allow their profits to be damaged by a bunch of racists.

I agree that the player is susceptible to repercussions from his employer (if there is a previously communicated rule regarding taking or not taking a knee during the anthem. My money is on the fact that their is no such rule)

My point was regarding his view on what his family fought and died for. I agree he has a right not to like it, but that shouldn't be confused for what those brave vets died for.

Sitting during the National Anthem is passive political speech.

    it hurts no one.

and if you feel that it does hurt you, YOU have the problem.

And again you are confusing a constitutional right with an act by a private employee. Don't pretend this is what his family fought and died for because it isn't They fought and died for the right to do it as a right not fighting for a private company to be forced to allow it for PC reasons.

Wrong again. If you do something you know will anger people and insult military people who fought and bled for this country when you can stand silently for a little over a minute YOU have the problem.

Except that nobody was arguing about whether the NFL should allow it or not. (Or at least, I wasn't)

Bryant Gumble already said the winter olympics are racist because there aren't enough blacks in it.

The boss can decide an employee using his job to promote his politics isn't good for business and fire that employee.

I wasn't. TF made it about what his/her family had died for, which is the Constitution right to criticize.

If that isn't part of the conversation, then his/her entire point is moot.

Why do we have to have the National Anthem sung before our sporting events anyway?

The NFL is entertainment. When I go to the movies or go to a concert, we don't sing the national anthem. Why must we make sports about Patriotism outside of the World Cup or the Olympics?

Notice that they protest on the job, instead of in the streets among their peers? Protest is awesome in the appropriate venue. We've been playing poker, and listening to the radio simulcast on Sunday, all season. Every bit as enjoyable, no politics involved.

    Oh, you nailed it.
And you may have that problem big time if its a couple of Marines you run into as you protest.

And I'll say it again for a second time. Your claim that they died to allow a racist to show disrespect in a private company for the anthem is false.

Maybe because like all these countries, we're proud of the anthem and the American teams we support!

    Country's with Anthems

Why is our national anthem a political football? (pun intended). It's basically flag burning. What message are you sending, and to whom? How is it conservatives, or even the alt-right, never resort to these tactics? Moral high ground ceded to alt-right extremists? Bravo!
