    I just thought of something:

I'm curious to know how many of the people who claim they are "patriots" and screamed at the player's supposed disrespect for the flag also happen to like flying the Confederate flag.

Indeed. Does that mean black people have nothing to complain about?

Go lecture someone else on Antifa. I do not support them. As for the "left" you can take a hike with that too. The right hates just as well.

Yeah, how dare the founding fathers disrespected the Queen, the monarchy and England and started a revolution! They are a bunch of haters who all should have been hanged.

So you are saying a "revolution" is coming? So the NFL players are going to get off their overpaid butts and do something instead of just kneeling? They are going to actually engage in some form of action that will make a difference? I am so ready for that! When exactly can I expect this?

Your analogy does not align unless there is follow through by the players. Them kneeling is just pissing off more veterans than not and millions of other Americans for numerous differing reasons. If all they do is kneel, there is no revolution. I understood your point, but it simply does not align.

So many here just take my words as full opponents to what these players are attempting to do and full alignment with Trump. Couldn't be further from reality. I believe we need a revolution. The decay of our government is out of control. Does that revolution need to be violent? No. Not at all. But we do need systematic change, to include change for the next generation of African Americans so that one day fathers don't have to have "the talk" with their sons and even their daughters. The fact that it is still necessary today disgusts me! If we could teach respect for each other and for each other's views. Nobody has walked a mile in my shoes nor have I walked in theirs!

The NFL Players have the attention of America. It is time to take the next step. Open the dialog necessary to do that. It is time to stand up and pledge allegiance to the America that we can truly be. The one that even Martin Luther King Jr. would be happy with. Not the Trump America or even the Hillary America. Not even the Obama America. The America that is truly for "all" the people! Politicians suck! Name one that you think doesn't and you would be fooling yourself!

No, it doesn't mean that. What it means is that "they" are complaining about the wrong thing.

And what should they be complaining about?

When did you start caring about pissing off veterans?

Were you this aggravated when President Trump denigrated prisoners of war?

And if President Trump calling American citizens he took an oath to protect "sons of bitches" is your idea of "respect for each other", you need someone to have "the talk" with you.

A black person could be sitting on a cloud in heaven and still complain.

If they want to protest that, they should make it clear that they understand it is an issue that has nothing to do with skin color. They should also stop displaying their hatred of America.

The President of the United States is obligated to speak out. Trump is an Ogre, so it comes out crass.

The anthem and flag are there to BRING US TOGETHER. Leftists asshats, pollute nearly everything they touch and have these dummies using the very things meant to bring us together to tear us apart. It's insane land. The NFL is losing $ on this is a huge way. Future players will not make as much if this continues.

    I am a Veteran!

I give Trump about as much time with his rhetoric as I give any politician. Not much at all!

I do think the Presidential oath is to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. And again, going back to his words, I do not condone them in any way. Never said I did. Not once!

I will never kneel for the National Anthem nor do I find it an acceptable form of protest in my book! For those that do, let me see action beyond the kneeling. Anyone can kneel! It is when you stand up you might just get heard!

Thank you for your service. I'm glad you weren't one of those veterans who got captured. President Trump wouldn't like you.

Just for the record, Trump didn't start the conversation, a millionaire quarterback with fading ability did. People protest in order to get a reaction, Trump reacted and voiced his opinion, something which seems only disrespectful football players are allowed to do. Anyway, the protesters didn't get the reaction they wanted so they started sniveling like babies.

But I'm not surprised you don't see the conversation starting with a player rather than with Trump because many on the left seem to astonishingly think the anthem protests just started yesterday. Libs seem to have tuned out disgraceful behavior when it comes from their side. Either that or they just consider disgraceful behavior simply normal.

That's very much a question of debate.

I guess there's no point rehashing the same argument. But I think you're fundamentally wrong on your interpretation of what they're doing.
