Support the contras again and finance the whole thing with an illegal and domestic weapons deal with Iran, eh?

Aside from that, as sad as that is in Nicaragua, it's kind of hypocritical. In the rest of the world it happens in many places every day, but nobody in the US cares about that, because it's not on the doorstep and not with the history of the 1980's!

 

I'm not an interventionista ( to steal a word from Nassim Taleb), but I find it so hypocritical that fans of the Sandanistas now are silent.

Do you have some inside information who Bernie and DeBlasio's friends are? Why not just report on Ortega's shift to the right and his support of big business in recent years.

 

What does this have to do with the situation that is going on other that to remind us how much you hate America?

 

I don't care anymore, we have tried our best to do what we believe to be right. The problem is that there is no such thing as "right or wrong", it is basically one side vs the other. Now, we definitely can usually see that one side fits our moral standards more, but even so, actions have consequences and we have now seen that they simply aren't worth it.

The problem with not being an interventionist however, is that those areas simply get worse and worse and the general population starts to immigrate.

We also do not have the capacity to simply house, feed, employ and take care of this massive influx of people.

Nations do horrible things and people die, but this is happening like crazy all over Africa, so why should I care about Nicaragua?

The world has spoken and US intervention has been WAY more trouble than it is worth. I will pray for those people (even though not religious) and support charity foundations as I am able. But in no way should we use tax dollars to interfere with what is going on down there. I am done wanting to be the police man and eventual pariah of the world

 

Who cares, let them fight it out.

We can deal with the aftermath and whoever ends up in charge.

The Russians actually or allegedly intervened in the 2016 election / election campaign. Wow ... impudence!
But the fact that you have also interfered massively in dozens of election campaigns from other countries midstnens ... dispute is pointless, your own, shared CIA documents prove that ... is of course something else and can not in the same context with the action of the Russians be brought, eh?
But since I do that and say that this behavior of you Americans is hypocritical, thats why am I anti-American for you?

If in Iran, who is known to use the Sharia and someone is killed with one of Sharia's bestial punishments, then you Americans incite you ... but a week later in Saudi Arabia, who also apply the Sharia, someone with a just as beastly death penalty is killed, then you shrugs in the US, because Saudi Arabia is indeed your friend.
If I call that hypocritical US behavior, then of course I'm anti-American, eh?

 

The thing is now the basic issue there is that the original socialistic Sandanistas are split. Some feel that Ortega has simply become a dictator and sides with business while the others are socialists who believe in democracy.

So which side is Bernie on?

In a way the Democrats in the USA are in a similar situation without a dictator. Obama and Pelosi side with Wall Street while others want a return to FDR's policies.
