No it doesn't your girlfriend shithole countries to produce your crap because they do it cheaper and why not find the cheapest you can find in those shithole countries. That makes the most sense.

Instead of girlfriend I meant go to.

If you produce worthless **** in a third world country, it makes more sense to pay as little as possible not as much as possible. That really defeats the purpose.

No one is saying that foreign companies are not going to the cheapest market force. The links I gave you in post 25 supported my post in post 19:
Post 19: the jobs that are created in the cheaper countries to produce goods for export provide employment and pay a higher wage than those companies in those countries that produce goods for internal consumption

    Post 25:
Using a World Bank survey data set of 1,500 Chinese enterprises conducted in 2001, the paper finds that the presence of FDI in the same industry and region has an indirect effect on wages of skilled workers in private firms, while it does not appear to affect wages of ordinary workers or of any workers in state-owned enterprises

Considering that I actually hand fed you the quotes shows that you just stick your fingers in your ears and sing la la la. Anyway, I'm happy that you acknowledge that you have been proven wrong

So if I've acknowledged such a thing, then you have no reason to argue.

Again, the idea is to spend as little as possible on production. So you don't pay workers more than they would work for.

Nike has been exploiting third world labor for decades and activists on the left and associated with unions have been fighting it for decades. Where were conservatives then? As with pretty much every other issue of human rights or morality, conservatives only pretend to care when their political biases tell them they should.

The bad black man made them angry, so they pretend that child exploitation matters. The bad Muslims don't like them, so they pretend to care about mistreatment of women etc. etc.

I don't purchase Nike products and never have. I mean that literally. Not a single product. So, if we are playing the 'moral high ground' game I'm doing just fine. A damned site better than most of the conservative respondents on this thread.

Nope, I'm just amused at the predictably infantile behaviour and double standards.

I think you misunderstand. I wasn't defending anything. I was pointing out irony.

Perhaps it is because you are too entrenched in your tribalism to follow.

Duh conservative is are bad because I'm duh...um...uh liberal.

Stupid tribalistic fighting is for numbskulls.

[QUQTE]The bad black man made them angry, so they pretend that child exploitation matters. The bad Muslims don't like them, so they pretend to care about mistreatment of women etc. etc. [/QUOTE] More "we are better than the other tribe" nonsense.

I don't purchase Nike products because they are expensive. I don't need everything to be moralistic.

But I'm thrilled at how virtuous and Noble you are.

Duh everybody is either conservative or liberal... The world is black and white...

You were the one trying to play the same 'gotcha' games the conservatives here are playing so you get the appropriate set of answers.

If you want the other conversation then come at me a bit differently and don't put words in my mouth. This is a forum packed to the gills with glassy eyed fanatics, bigots, certifiable morons and trolls. I long since lost track of who is who, so I just respond post by post. If you want something more than 'black and white' then respond to me in a way that makes it look that way.

As for 'virtuous and noble', not hard to look that way here. Really not hard.

Stupidity is simply stupidity regardless of political philosophy.

Think about dumb things liberals do, if you can't than congratulations you are a tribalist.

If I want other conversation I'll talk to other people.
I'm reminded of an old saying, it goes "If you run into someone that is an *******, that person was likely an *******. If everybody you meet us an ******* that it's probably you."

    Same thing goes here

Yeah the good guys and bad guys mentality. Overly simplistic and primitive way of looking at things.

    Not interested in false dichotomy.

    Yes it's all about looks.

State the obvious! The multinational companies did increase the pay to Chinese workers due to the backlash from their customers as stated in the extracts of links I posted. Those companies took up a commercial decision which cost them more to produce the products but was still cheaper to have the products made in China than any other country. You seem to struggle understanding simple concepts.
