Do not think so. Nthe longer it goes on the more and more it is a Pelosi shutdown?

    Go trump!

Well, okay then. Congratulations on not thinking so, but the data says otherwise.

    Provide the links.

Its Pelosi shutdown now. And voters want border security, not a shutdown.

When you shut down the country to try to get your stuff passed, you are holding the government hostage. Thats a terrible way of doing business. Its also terrible to take away amnesty from dreamers, only to use temporary amnesty as a hostage negotiation strategy. Pelosi doesn't need to talk to the president because she had the popular support and the advantage. Right now Trump is begging to bring democrats to the table, but there is no reason they need to negotiate. Reminds me when Obama was begging Republicans to come to the table and evaluate his Supreme Court nominee. Trump just looked so eager to please and get a deal and his spirit has been sucked out of him.

Trump is not satisfied with Pelosi's bill, Trump makes it clear that he is willing to exercise his veto power vested in him by the founding fathers and the Constitution.... You can call it "taking government hostage" all you want but it's not just Trump's presidential prerogative, it's in fact Trump's constitutional responsibility to send a bill he finds lacking back to the House. It's his job, just like Pelosi's job is to work with Trump and seek a mutually acceptable compromise.

Pelosi can be a hero and solve the problem of the shutdown, the problem of a million federal workers, the problem of DACA, the problem of TPS people, the problem of bipartisanship by merely accepting Trump's extremely generous offer and adding whopping 0.1% to the federal budget. But she has indeed been taken hostage, not by Trump by her own insane uber liberal/progressive wing of her own party.

This is not a new legislative bill, this is just a normal government funding bill. If he finds the current state of affairs lacking, instead of refusing the normal funding of government in normal funding bills, he should try to get an immigration bill passed to change things. We will always have disagreements about what should get funded, but that doesn't mean we should shut down the government to get what we want. Yes, he has the power vested in him to veto, but wait until Republicans become unpopular they use their own vested power to over-ride his veto.

He will try to get an immigration bill passed. Meanwhile he finds the funding bill lacking, these are not related, let alone mutually exclusive things, your attempts to conflate them notwithstanding.

Negotiations and a compromise satisfying all parties involved, satisfying the checks and balances by the executive branch as mandated by the constitution should be the solution to this impasse. Meanwhile it's Pelosi who keeps the country hostage by sabotaging the negotiations, rejecting any kind of a compromise and turning down an incredibly fair and balanced presidential proposal.

The country is not shut down, although I'm not sure what's going on in your area.
Dreamers never had their amnesty taken away. There was no amnesty. Trump offered amnesty but the Dems said no.

He offered them "protection" for three years during which time they could negotiate further.

"The president backed legislation to give more than 700,000 immigrants, known as "Dreamers," temporary legal status and work authorization for three years if their protection gets revoked. He also supported a three-year extension of the legal status of immigrants temporarily protected from deportation".

I think it's safe to call that 'amnesty', though within a limited time frame.

Sorry, you are twisting words. Had he outright offered amnesty and the Dem refused, then you have a case. 3 years of extension is clownish BS that only a fool would fall for in light how fervent Trump's base is against the idea of amnesty.

Then which word would you use? He was in no position to offer outright amnesty because that would have needed Dems approval.

In any case Pelosi refused the offer before she even heard what it was. Now the 'Dreamers' have no amnesty, or protection, three years or otherwise. They have nothing.

    I think you are mistaken

The open borders crowd does not have the votes to override a veto

All speculation until the bill is passed and then vetoed by Trump.

In other words, you have just posted unsubstantiated BS.
