I just spent three days in isolation on the covid ward at St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown. I had six different nurses tending to me over my stay. Each one was Kind, Compassionate, Caring, and Intelligent. They did more than just their jobs. They took the time to talk to me and answer any questions. We talked about children and bicycles and husbands and my girlfriend. We showed each other pictures on our cell phones. One nurse let me use her phone charger when I got down to 37%. Bonus: They were all pretty. I fell in love with each and every one of them. God Bless Nurses. FWIW I was covid negative. I have Bronchitis and COPD. Home and healing now.
For some reason the scrubs help. Seriously though I spent a lot of time in the hospital years ago and most of the nurses were wonderful. They are also overworked and underpaid. I couldn't imagine having a job where you are required to constantly handle bodily fluids while listening to people moan, complain and curse you out.
My wife just spent 5 nights in the hospital. As a nurse from the covid wing was loading my wife into my truck yesterday, she hugged my wife. My wife is still in quarantine at home.
She was in the front seat next to me. My son and I have already recovered and tested negative and we are finishing her quarantine as we speak.
Good because if you made her ride in the bed dinner conversation would be rather awkward and women never forget anything. It's their superpower.
To get back on topic, my cousin offered to meet us at the ER to help my wife get care when I took her. My cousin is a nurse. We don't agree on politics, but we are family and there's not much we wouldn't do for each other.
