NY Times: Only 27% of young Black New Yorkers are fully vaccinated

My post had nothing to do with mandating vaccines, which SF just did today for most activities in the city

 

Well, besides pointing out the obvious, there are only 4-5 countries below us who I would consider major world players... yeah, I figured we'd squeak in above Congo and Nepal...

Still, what other country would have that many people think it's a good idea to get MORE vaccine than recommended? Something probably completely untested...

We need to invent a new category to go with Anti-Vaxxers..... Multi-Vaxxers... Of course, neither is the way to go..

 

Your post is a bit hard to follow. Are you claiming that the more educated are more vaccine averse? That really really doesn't seem right to me, and a cursory googling tends to agree with me. Please show me where you found that info.
As to your second statement, did you mean if the vaccine DOES work? Or is there a point I am missing.

I happened to see a clip of the black man working for CNN, Don Lemon, stating that those who refuse the shot should be refused service at the grocery story, the drug store, and other public places.

The irony was supreme, coming from a black man ignorant of history. I guess he supports the old idea of blacks being refused service and being forced to sit at the back of the bus.

The end result of his policy would also effect the free-thinking blacks who refuse the dangerous clot shots. That is the sweet irony IMO

I realize that, his favorite subjects of attack are Dems and African Americans. He views every issue through his lens of "my side good, the other side bad". That's why it is hard for him to understand that Dem supporters can have a problem with African American's low vaccination rates, while at the same time African Americans vote overwhelmingly Dem. It is hard to grasp such nuance when he lives in a black or white, good or bad world that is painted by the RW media and the type of thinking they promote.

 

Wrong. For the last few months we've been told it's white conservative MAGA cities and states who refuse to get jabbed. In my post what do we see? I'll tell you. We see a liberal city in a liberal state with a low rate of jabbed people who are not white conservative MAGA supporters, and the best you can do it attack me.

Well "world player" has to do with other factors than IQ. But as a general rule, the high IQ countries are the livable ones.

In fact there would be multiple threads about it.

 

No two ways about it, young black males have to do more in terms of vaccination. And they are certainly part of the outreach program from the Biden administration, in the same way that the republican vaccine averse are. They are getting bad(different) information as are many Trumpist vaccine resisters. Hope we can reach them.
On the other hand, singling out a very small demographic (male, black, young (50 percent of 13 percent, of whatever the young braket is, is a pretty small number)) isn't really fair. It's like if I said that republicans were overwhelmingly pro vaccine by citing the 70 to 90 age group of republicans who have gotten vaccinate in droves.
While I understand that antivaxxers are anti big government in all it's forms, and respect that (to a small degree) the distrust of blacks vis a vis vaccination is a little more merited, after all, we are only 50 years removed from the end of the Tuskeegee experiment that went on for 40 years using blacks as guinea pigs and denying them actual medicine. Still not a full excuse. Get vaccinated!

 

They'll probably say the mandate is racist, and demand a variance for minorities. (sop)
