The clash between the spirit that triumphs over war, in a practice of deceit, and the vision of an Islamic State that like a pair of bellows as John Brennan said, “purify oneself or one’s community,” as the False Prophet said, “It expels its impurities and brightens and clears its good" results in a vary tangled web.

The "war on terror" has created a culture of fear in America. The Bush administration's elevation of these three words into a national mantra since the horrific events of 9/11 has had a pernicious impact on American democracy, on America's psyche and on U.S. standing in the world. Using this phrase has actually undermined our ability to effectively confront the real challenges we face from fanatics who may use terrorism against us.

The damage these three words have done -- a classic self-inflicted wound -- is infinitely greater than any wild dreams entertained by the fanatical perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks when they were plotting against us in distant Afghan caves. They have a vision, they are Islamic, we are at WAR, and Obama has dug himself a hole.

They cannot have a vision of Allah controlling the clouds and defeating factionalism because that brings up why we went to Iraq over Saddam’s call to Jihad and needed to finish, We cannot be at war because that would show the stupidity of the “spirit that triumphs over war,” they cannot be Islamic because we cannot denigrate their religion nor can we “define our presumed enemies” beyond Obama’s narrow focus, they cannot be a State because that would define “a geographic context.”

The vision of Obama is the vision of those who have no sense.
