The following is a transcript of a recent CNN interview of James Clapper:

Devon Nunes Quote: "Did the FBI use this dossier to get any warrants did they use it to open up a counter-intelligence investigation?, and if they did, if they’re using unverified information to open up inquiries into American citizens I think we have a big problem."

Alisyn Camerota (CNN): What’s the answer to that?

James clapper: Well I think that the counter-intelligence investigation was launched before the revelation of the dossier.

Alisyn Camerota: Ok so that’s important, the chronology is, that the counter intelligence investigation predated the dossier, so the way he’s (Devon Nunes) setting it up can’t be true.

James clapper: Well, it’s a little distorted in my mind, because I think the dossier would be a part of this counter intelligence investigation that was already underway which of course was buttressed by the intelligence community in the first place.

Clapper admits seemingly inadvertently and in passing that Obama administration counter intelligence activities against the Trump campaign had gone on for some time, and not triggered by the dossier. Clueless Camerota takes that to just refute Nunes' statement.

Only in autocratic countries is government intelligence used against political opponents.

By the way, this report is very hard to find. I guess shunned by most media outlets.
