Abolishing ICE ‘Would Compromise Public Safety’​

Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson pushed back against Democrats calling for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to be abolished in a Friday op-ed published in the Washington Post.
The op-ed, titled, “Abolishing ICE is not a serious policy proposal,” likened demands to abolish ICE to a hypothetical demand from those who wanted to end the Vietnam war by abolishing “the entire Defense Department.”
“Obviously, that would have completely compromised national security,” Johnson wrote, adding that ending the agency “would compromise public safety” as well.
“Calls to abolish ICE only serve to sow even greater division in the American public and in its political leadership, damaging any remaining prospect of bipartisan immigration reform,” wrote Johnson.

Progressives, Resisters, Marxist/Socialists, Democrats...call them what ever you want. The abolish ICE hue and cry was meant to stymie President Trump’s progress as POTUS....however, they failed once more.

With each public defense of DHS/ICE, Jeh Johnson proves that at least one Obama appointee left the White House with his cojones still attached and functioning. (I hope he survives whatever evil Deposed Shadow President Valerie Jarrett is planning to befall him.)
You have to give Johns credit, at least he tried. The Progressive Leftist Democrats have gone off the rails into looney land rather than engage in the kind of deep introspection an adult would have after such a bad loss. Their immaturity to admit their policies have been shunned by the American people. Now the Dem's are in the death spiral of their party as they chosen to double and triple down on those same failed and rejected policies

Jeh Johnson was typical of the senior people in the Obama administration. Experienced, professional and competent. There was not a word of corruption or scandal in eight years. The fact that the Trump supporters here treat it as a revelation is disturbing. Is this the extent of their understanding of what's going on in the world and Washington?

Censorship of the media is, of course, completely necessary to a Marxist Socialist state. For eight years we saw Obama try to insert the FCC into every newsroom in the country, which was met with enough public resistance to force the administration to stop the attempt. Meanwhile the Marxist Socialist 5th Column media formerly know as the 4th Estate carried water for Obama and hid from the public the evidence of the scandals created by the Obama administration from the invasion of Georgia, Fast & Furious, Libya, Benghazi, IRS, Red Lines in the sand, to Obama's open microphone sending a message to Putin his obeisance and cooperation hence the invasion of the Ukraine, not to mention Obama's Iranian deal and midnight shipment of cash amounting to $1.8 Billion. Yep, not a smidgen of corruption in the Obama administration
It’s strange that a president who had such a transformative effect on our national discourse will leave such a negligible policy legacy. But Barack Obama, whose imperial term changed the way Americans interact and in some ways paved the way for the Trump presidency, is now watching his much-celebrated and mythologized two-term legacy be systematically demolished...ah... karma.

 

In hoping for a revolution public safety is not high on their list.

I went through your list and consider 4 maybe 5 of these worthy of discussion. The rest are a collection of misrepresentations, diversions, inaccuracies, denials, and lies. We've heard it all before.
