This is an interesting New York Post article I came across. Apparently Obama is using his clout and lots of money to organize protestors to fight against Trump's government policies and anti-Obama agenda. Do you wonder why every time Trump signs an EO there are people across the entire nation forming large groups of organized protestors? Instead of sitting back and enjoying the benefits of a retired President, he seems to be behind the scenes, a few miles away from the White House, promoting protests against Trump in an effort to keep his 8 years of accomplishments and legacy alive. from is an Op Ed (an opinion piece) not an actual news story with factual references.

Well, it is pretty lame to make Obama accountable for Trump's behavior. There a lot of magical thinking these days even among adults.

 

I don't understand how anyone can not see the obvious; not the least of which are those who think Trump is a "straight shooter"! He is the biggest liar this country has ever elected. The man is pathological and it makes me seriously question the sanity of his supporters. I suspect the internet and age of media have undermined the ability of his supporters to engage in rational thought.

One thing is certain: I have lost all faith in this country. It is unrecognizable to me.

Didn't deny. Just pointed out the mistake of thinking that an Op Ed piece is an actual article from a newspaper.

I don't care if Mr. Obama stays active in politics. Thomas Jefferson continued to write about politics once he left office. John Adams continued to be involved in politics after his retirement. The only people who can delegitimize Trump are the ones in Trump's office.
Trump is President. Obama handed over the office to him. Obama is free to protest government actions if he feels those government
actions are irresponsible. It's his right as an American Citizen.

 

You are misinterpreting my point. I am not blaming Obama for Trump's behavior, I'm merely saying Obama is trying to undermine Trump's agenda if he's supporting these protests. He was a civil rights lawyer and community organizer before he became a Senator and then President, so this sort of thing he may be involved in is not out of the realm of possibility.

 

Obama has every right to express his opinions, same as everyone else.

What I suspect is his well funded organization will go far beyond mere expression of freedom to manufacturing ginned up outrage supported by fake news and other illegitimate methods of subterfuge. Ultimately the American people will decide whether the unprecedented anger and unreasoning hate that
has sprung like the Big Bang singularity out of the Trump election will fizzle out or take hold.

People are sick to death of division and if Trump's policies are well received I don't think there's a thing in the world Obama and his agitprop can do about it.

You have it all wrong. Trump is trying to sabotage the Trump Presidency. Trump is unable to delegate authority. There should be one person running the White House staff. That would be Trump's chief of staff, Reince Priebus, but it is obvious Trump hasn't delegated that power to Priebus. Consequently, there are a number of power centers in the White House, Priebus himself, Flynn before he was fired, Bannon, Conway, Spicer, Miller, and probably others.

The result is mass confusion. Flynn lied to the Vice-President, then tried to cover it up. Trump knew about the Flynn conversation three weeks ago, but didn't tell Pence. Pence found out about the lie from the newspapers on Feb. 9. Conway says Trump has Flynn's back. The following day Trump fires Flynn. Conway says Flynn resigned. Spicer told reporters in a press conference Trump essentially fired Flynn. Bannon orchestrated the Flynn fiasco, but he is saying nothing. No one has heard from Priebus about all this. Despite foreign crises; Iran launched a ballistic missile, North Korea launched a ballistic missile, Kim Jung Un's brother Kim Jung Nam was murdered, a Russian spy ship is 30 miles off our coast, Russia is moving a new generation of nuclear-capable missiles into Eastern Europe in a treaty violation, and Russian fighters buzzed an American destroyer in the Black Sea, Trump's National Security Council has not met. Of course, the NSC doesn't have a leader right now. The NSA was fired.

In addition, Trump formulated and changed decades long American foreign policy regarding Israel at a press conference on national television, embarrassing the Israeli P.M., Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu. In front of cameras he asked Netanyahu, “I’d like to see you hold back on settlements for a little bit.” He also said the United States would no longer insist on a Palestinian state as part of a peace accord between Israel and the Palestinians, backing away from a policy that has underpinned America’s role in Middle East peacemaking since the Clinton administration. Incredible, shocking, I realize Trump is unorthodox, but are we now going to be renegotiating American foreign policy in front of a national television audience?
