Hahaha PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE SUCKERS!

The center was supposed to be a Presidential library which would have been covered by the NEA.

Except this building will contain no books and no documents so it doesn't count leaving Chiraqis to foot the bill.

Good thing is the Obama center will contain a hip hop recording studio and basketball courts.

Oh and its supposed to allllll sorrttsss of revenue just like all the "civil rights museums" that no one ever goes to. /nod

I hear that the proposed site trashes an existing Chicago city park too...power to the people!

I did celebrate. The day he left office and became irrelevant again. He divided our nation along race, he put us into such staggering debt that it cant be paid off, he sent cash to our enemies to use against us, he let four Americans die for votes, he gave Iran a clear path to nuclear weapons, he destroyed our healthcare, it goes on and on. Its easier to list the one thing he did right which was say yes kill bin laden. Other than that he was the most failed president in modern history. The guy is scum.

No books or documents in his "library"? I guess he needs to hide all the evidence of his crimes.

Most corrupt POTUS in history, and it isn't even close.

It's only fair. There are no books or documents because Obama himself was all image and no substance. Remember that he was in control of The Harvard Law Review at one point and yet -- against all tradition -- never put any of his own writing into it? I suspect that when push came to shove our nation's first ever Affirmative Action president was essentially an ignorant piece of garbage.

The library will be a huge asset for Chicago. Don't you think that the city and state should support projects surrounding the area to improve the neighborhoods?

Trump should be pushing money into the city since he promised to rebuild our cities and all.

Maybe they are willing to pay for this because of tourism benefits.

It’s impressive that you managed to get so many things wrong in one post.

I was just about to ask what kind of books they'd have, then you said there won't be any. Imagine that. Basketball and hip hop studios and in Chicago, the murder capital of the world. Why don't they send that $200,000,000 to incinerator, it'll be more useful there.

Why would it or should it contain books?
    It's not a library.

Maybe you should imagine books and documents being available at the library in digital form.

Oh wow, I thought you were just being sarcastic when you said he was the best in modern history, lol. We were definitely good and bending over to all other countries' needs.

We all have our opinions though. My taxes shot up, I lost my healthcare and couldn't afford his, I couldn't disagree with a woman or minority without being called a sexist or racist, I couldn't hold different views without being called those or a homophobe or an islamaphobe. I could go on but you get the point.

Just seems to me that people with hypersensitive feelings were emboldened. When you get outraged by an opposing decision and try to ruin a man's career over it, you've lost complete control. It was never that way until Obama was elected. Before Obama, people understood that words were just words, opinions were opinions, and views were just views. You have grandkids, you should remember what times were like before Obama.

Of course he was. He never made any of his own decisions, he was a puppet. He was used because he was black and elitist liberals knew they could do anything through him and not be called out for it.

There are far more important things and way to improve cities. How long will it be before that "library" is in shambles like Chicago?

Best way for that area I suppose. At least they won't be burned down and can be edited and revised anytime the need arises since they're digital.

You really should let your hate go. Obama will be honored more and more as time goes on.

Talking about the library being burned down or documents being altered is baseless and hateful.

Going to the website for the Obama center....

There will be a library, supposedly. As it’s not built yet, can’t say for sure, but that seems to be the plan. Looks like there will be three main buildings to the complex. Looks kind of nice actually.

    https://www.obama.org/the-center/

    The Library Building
The Library Building is the third main building of the campus — a portal for visitors to engage with the world beyond the Obama Presidential Center. More than a building housing documents from the past, we want this to be a place for visitors to play a real role in building our collective future. With that in mind, to tap into the existing learning network within the city, the Foundation will be partnering with the Chicago Public Library to bring a branch to the Obama Presidential Center. You can learn more about the partnership HERE.

Those all sound like personal issues, why blame them on a president?

The sales pitch for these things is always the same.

"it will bring jobs, it will bring tourism, it will generate revenue for the city, blah blah blah"

No other explanation for robbing tax dollars on wasteful social projects has ever been uttered.

So peel back that layer if its the truth you're after.

The reason the city is willing to spend this money is not because the city (the people) will benefit ...it because all of the players involved will be benefiting.

The money comes from the cities tax payers but then gets circulated between the three entities: the politicians that vote yes, the construction companies and unions that do the work, and the Obamas.

From campaign contributions to lucrative long lasting contracts ($200m will become $500m before its finished mark my words) to "foundation" donations.

Half of the money spent on this WILL end up in the pockets of the bigwigs, its just how Democrat cities operate and we have proof of this dating back long before any of us were even born.
