2 Things:

1. name something that isn't racist and never will be (since most libs have to be told something is racist, many on this board have refused to answer because they don't know if today's pillowcase is the racist item of tomorrow)

2. name something positive about blacks as a whole (the left manages to find plenty of positives about illegals, so this should be easy)

 

Questioning a place of birth is not racist, especially when that person's own book said he was born in Kenya.

That was certainly a part of it, though how much is anyone's guess. While you absolutely do not have to be a racist to have disliked Obama, there are those who disliked him because he was a black man. So for some, that was true.

In my estimate though, Hillary Clinton was a much larger influence than Obama. That and Trump actually appealed to the rural voters after he redesigned himself to be a Republican. These were folks already sick of 8 years of a Democratic administration suddenly faced with the prospect of another one led by a person from a family that had left a bad taste in Republicans mouths since the 90s.

I agree. MLK made changes, but those changes were just hidden. Many whites did not want to see equality with blacks. And the suppression had been so long and so deep, it never mattered much that laws had changed.
People still had their mind sets. It takes 3-4 generations to make something like racism in society to be insignificant.
So from 60s to the 2000s it was largely dormant, but blacks kept making equality inroads. Little by little.

Then, a black skin man was president and those little improvements were no longer little. And the rock was over turned. And tRUMP was a rebuttal the gains of the blacks.
