Okay, so there's all sorts of news about this. But, when I watched CNN this morning, all they talked about was the Senate bill that's been held up in the House forever. So, I figured, why not check out the bill they're talking about.

It is S.744 -- Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act which passed the Senate Jan 27, 2013 and was sent to the House. A summary of the bill can be found @ https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/s744#summary where the full text is also available.

Why has the House not acted upon this?

Maybe I don't know where to search, but the Speaker clearly stated the House would not act upon the Senate bill back in Jan 2013 but I can't find out why. I know there must be a House version somewhere but I can't find that either.

And, from Daily Kos comes a summary of the Executive Order @ http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/...-million-undocumented-beef-up-border-security and the details of it @ http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/...-million-undocumented-beef-up-border-security from the White House

If anyone has anything to add to this – without flaming and diverting – I'd appreciate it.

Fact checks on Obama speech @ http://hotair.com/archives/2014/11/21/fact-checks-on-obama-speech-come-from-ap-wapo-and-jay-carney/ puts the lie to almost everything he said it will do.

I keep hearing that the Immigration System is "broken", what I'd like to know is what exactly is "broken" about present immigration law? If no one was entering the United States illegally (as a present illegal alien) would there still be a "broken" system problem? What of those who follow the immigration laws, how is it that they can comply in a "broken" system?

OP, I am also at a loss. I do not know what POTUS reformed. It will be in effect for 2 years and then back to square one. No solutions.

Boehner didn't bring it to the floor because although most of the bill was uncontroversial, the amnesty part was opposed by a solid section of the House. Boehner is supportive, but he didn't want to violate the "Boehner rule" to pass the bill. The bill could have passed the House, but not with a majority of Republicans.

Nothing is broken. Our laws are just not be enforced by this rogue Administration. Our border is NOT secure. "Immigration Reform", aka "Amnesty", is just Obama's way of creating a permanent underclass of democratic voters.
