This has been the legacy of Obama's reign, and now hopefully his failure to be re-elected. America can't afford 4 more years of this narcissitic pathetic empty suit.

This article got it exactly right:

As long as Obama insists on this particular tax hike, there can be no deal to stop the country from going over the “fiscal cliff” — a tax increase on 90 percent of households, along with mandated spending cuts — on Jan. 1. The president won't change course, even though the threat of the “fiscal cliff” scares employers who otherwise might hire new workers.
Undaunted, Obama told the Des Moines Register that going over the fiscal cliff “will probably be messy,” but it is essential to position Washington so he can get a “grand bargain.” Obama wants to take the U.S. economy over the cliff so that he can save it later.
In 2012, voters have a choice between an incumbent who has given up until 2013 and a challenger who just doesn't quit.

Funny.. So the tea party nut jobs refuse to compromise on anything and demand my way or the highway. The tea party nuts tell the world they are ready for the country to default on it's obligations and get the credit rating of the nation lowered, as explicitely stated in the credit rating reports which specify in great clarity that the dysfunctional congress was the reason for the change. And then the right wingers claim it is Obama that refuses to compromise... ha ha ha. The tea party types in congress are acting like little children who are throwing a temper tantrum and throwing themselves on the ground to get their way. And then we have others, like this article, who act like strangers in the grocery store and blame the parents for not giving the kid the candy.

So the republicans make a calculated determination that they will refuse to work accross the isle. They will prevent anything from passing, even things they supported in the past, just to obstruct Obama and try to harm the country to harm him for political gain. The republican congress fillibuster record amounts. And now we have republicans who are gullible lemmings who blame Obama for these actions. Well I can say one thing for republicans. They may put their party in front of the country, but they are right that their political strategy is pretty effective. Harm the country, put out stupid one liner sound bites that lie about the issues but sound good, demonize the other side and fan the flames of emotions, blame the other side for your own failures, and you will get lots of foolish people to support you.

Too late for Obama, and it is sad you wouldn't read the article. Obama is a failed leader, and Benghazi unraveling shows exactly what an inept leader his his. Romney has proven he is a great leader as governor of Massachusetts.

Perhaps you missed this part of the article? Oops, forgot, you didn't read it:

Obama could have pushed for tax reform as a means to raise revenue. Instead, he clung to a gimmick that would do next to nothing to dent the $16 trillion national debt — it would fund government for about a week — and was doomed to fail in the House. It's not even clear that Democrats, excluded from his talks, would have supported the Obama tax hike

Obama is the president of the United States, as the leader, it is his job to make things work, he is the leader. Perhaps you liberal Kool Aid worshipers will someday realize that, but I doubt it.

Perfect example. Obama has increased spending less than Bush did his first 4 years. And federal spending actually shrank last year. But the gullible blame him for the spending the republicans did.

It will be interesting to see how many more visits Obama makes to the flooded areas as a lame duck. Anyone want to hazard a guess?

"The fact that we're here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign — is a sign of leadership failure. Leadership means the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America's debt limit." ~ Barack Obama

    Thats a completely lie.

Any spending reduction the president made, he was forced to make by the tea party.

What would you want Romney to do, use his own money? Romney made the bailout work, Obama failed. Your denial of the article is typical pathetic liberal loon Kool Aid bull(*)(*)(*)(*). That article was written by a writer from the San Francisco Chronicle, not your typical partisan conservative affair, and watching you dismiss it as partisan is sad. Obama had his chance, he failed, and needs to be replaced for America's sake

The article clearing exhibits the shear absence of bi-partisan leadership from Obama, something your insane opinion can't refute. His stimulus is not working, and the worst pathetically slow recovery since WWII will strengthen those who don't drink the O drink come next week in the voting booth
