Y'know, it just occurred to me that there is more humor to be had deconstructing your post. So let's begin:

Top Democrat? In terms of seniority, nope. In terms of press coverage, few are getting more than she is. The media loves her. She says something, the press eats it up. She's new, she's fresh, she's now. This is as opposed to - oh, let's say Cedric Richmond who I literally picked randomly from the House. Unless you're from Louisiana, specifically New Orleans, I bet no one's heard of him, nor has anyone seen his name on the news. Whether you or I or anyone else likes it or not, she's being pushed by the media as their darling, and what she says - however inane - becomes the news. Which is really really good for the right, because what she says is often stupid, ill-conceived, and like, uh, like one step away from like, being like, like, a word salad.

And when people hear her ideas, see how the Dem leadership and membership sign on to them while the hoi polloi realize how Kim Kardashian could put together better ideas than she can - it makes them all look bad by association. Because they just signed onto the idea that we need to pay for people unwilling to work. Because we need to kill off all the cows due to their flatulence. Because we need to eliminate airplanes because Occasional Cortex says so. And they agreed with it! And the press keeps giving her air time over arguably better, more intelligent, and more informed Dems such as the aforementioned Cedric who presumably says stuff too but doesn't get any air time on a national level. But the press has decided to elevate her, to make her every utterance top priority. So the actual question you should be asking is "Why IS the media pushing her so much?" And that's where the humor begins, because we all know WHY you won't see many if any on the left question the media for doing so! Nah, it's far better to transfer the blame elsewhere than onto yourselves - and that really is funny to us!

And the kicker is when you ask why the RW is afraid of Occasional Cortex. Well AJ, howzabout you find a few posters here who ARE afraid of her? You keep saying we're afraid - maybe you could dredge up three or four posts where you see genuine fear? Because all I see is laughter, mockery, and contempt. And as I said, that's where more can be found - because you won't be able to back that assertion up and it will be funny when you can't!

Post 75, right before yours, certainly indicates fear, as we tend to mock and denigrate that which we fear.... A normal response would be that her ideas are a little out there for the masses or she's too progressive for America.

Nah, calling her dumb as a box of rocks is more indicative of the fact that - well, she IS a naive, inexperienced girl in way over her head at best, and well - that she really is an idiot at worst. Look, I've read her Green Deal Paper. It wasn't that long a read. She pulled it down after it got soundly mocked by people on both sides of the political spectrum but sadly for her archived versions still exist - the fact that she pulled it down seems to indicate she herself knows the blowback was gonna be epic. It's not that her ideas are ahead of their time; it's because her ideas would completely annihilate the economy.
