Although we do not know just when the Games were first played, the earliest recorded Olympic competition occurred in 776 B.C. It had only one event, the one-stade (approximately 630-foot or 192-meter) race, which was won by a cook named Coroebus. This was the start of the first Olympiad, the four-year period by which the Greeks recorded their history.
So...why the need for drugs? The originators didn't, so why should any other athlete???

This happens to be one of the first things I noticed which suggests to me that there's weird stuff going on where humankind is concerned - that a professional athlete strives to come first in class knowing that he did so under false pretences. Shamelessly cheated on his fellow competitors, in other words? What possible kind of satisfaction can anyone get from that? [IMG]

In ancient Greece there was a temporary peace between the warring states during the Olympics, and fostering peace was the intent of the modern games. This of course is a no-no for Washington and its war mongering cohorts. So they had to politicize it with false accusations against the curler Alexander Krushelnitsky, not only to eliminate the competition through their criminal actions, but also to brainwash Americans into believing that black is white, and white is black.

The Latvian chemist Ivars Kalvins who invented meldodium said it makes no sense to take it since it needs to be taken for six months, and previous samples did not show the drug. Also it's not needed for a curling since it doesn't require vigorous physical activity.

Of course all this doesn't matter, since these crimes are committed for the world's own good? I mean how else could Washington's oligarch controlled liberal democracy be imposed on the world, other than through the deception and lies of its propaganda outlets?.

“It makes no sense to take meldonium on a single occasion as one needs to take it for at least ten days for the effect of protecting [the organism] from oxygen-deficit in tissues and organs to emerge,”. He added that the drug would also hardly enhance an athlete’s performance in curling, as extreme or vigorous physical activity is not typical in the sport.

The specialist assumed that the positive doping test of the Russian curler can be a result of unlawful actions taken by some interested party, since meldonium has “no particular taste and is very soluble in water.” Food or water containing meldonium could be the real source of the drug that was found in the athlete’s samples, Kalvins said, adding that he hopes that “such possibility would be thoroughly examined by the officials.”

Either they do, or they are perpetuating it for their own political reasons. I favor the second reason, since I can't understand how anyone could be on this forum and be presented with facts day in and day out, and still accept the garbage spewed out by our government and its MSM cohorts.

Good for Russia, they had a great showing in the games considering that the WADA criminals eliminated their major athletes without any charges. I guess it's called eliminating the competition?

The Russian ice skater Medvedeva beat her previous world record, and then the Russian Zagitoba beat that one and set another world record right afterwards. Their stamina, talent and training is amazing, no wonder they want them out of the games. Bravo! :applause:

Was driving home from LA at 4:00 to OC (which means that 40 miles takes 3 hours) and listened to Chris Matthews and CNN and a few others for a while.

It is INCREDIBLE how they are telling the people who watch their stations their interpretations of what is going on.

Trump is going to win a second term, I cannot believe it but he really is. I remember thinking there was no way that Trump could win in the first place but the Far Left has such a grip on their media that they keep talking about such idiotic stories as "170 scholars say Trump is the worst President of all time!!!" instead of the hundreds of actual stories that are going on around the world.

They are basically pandering to the far FAR Left and ignroing the entire middle. In doing so they will continue to lose elections and play Identity Politics and they will lose.

I am shocked, I thought they would at least MAYBE change their tactics a bit, but nope. Mark my words, if they keep this up, we are going to have to have Trump as President for 8 years instead of 4.

But again, the Leftist Media will continue to tell you otherwise, their only hope at this point is that they can win a popularity contest by putting up a movie start in the race..... which is really sad

After the mass ban on Russian athletes subsequent in Sochi, I posted here that the move was ridiculous because it would pervert the medals score in that the winners would never be sure they were the best, viz. one of those banned Russians could have done better. It was soon afterwards that the ban was lifted (sort of?) by allowing Russians to compete in SK as 'neutrals'. It might have been coincidence that the ban was lifted so soon after my post, but I don't think so!

Alexander Krushelnitsky is tested positive for the banned substance meldonium, which increases blood flow and induces faster recovery after a workout. Why would you need drugs to crack curling? Doping in curling seems like a joke.

I thought he might be; in fact I would have bet on it. The bet would be predicated upon the certain fact that the entire nation regards this childish anti-Russia neurosis with as much hilarity as the rest of us.

    lol RIght?

I just don't get it? It is banned, so don't use it ....

It is almost like the NPR funding argument. When people say "NPR only gets XXX% (low like 12%) of their fudning from the public so who cares?" Uh, well yeah, if who cares them we should be able to take away the funding and it shouldn't matter. Such a dumb argument

On that note, if these steroids dont helping curling, why would they take them in the first place? The rules were set and they broke them, not sure if it helped or not, but they were stupid enough to break the rules. I have no sympahty for these dumb women, there fault.

Ok I don't understand this second doping claim or rather positive test by a Russian athlete. The previous one that drug has a crazy half life.

This bobsled girl is famous in Russia, she is in commercials I think even holding a sign that says " I don't dope" now she is testing positive... And she was tested and cleared by the same testing procedure five DAYS ago there in Korea and came back clear?

    Now she's positive?

Wth is going on over there in Korea?
