Have we really been checking police records of people who have been invading the country?

Sure, Fox News ran a story with pictures just yesterday of border jumpers with murder convictions (can't find it). Feds have been tracking and catching MS-13 for the past few years. ICE has their own most wanted list. The FBI also tracks terrorists and others not wanted here. The NSA ,CIA and other intel watch people all the time.

That's only one reason we can't have open borders though. There are many more reasons than I care to write about here.

I read the article about 52 different countries coming from Border Patrol testimony to Congress, it said this year and not in a year. The article also said people from 171 different countries were put in custody along the southern border in 2017. I doubt this was in testimony. There are 196 countries in the world and one of them is Vatican City. That would only leave 24 other countries in the world that didn't have citizens trying to cross the southern border in 2017 and be put in custody according to the article. That just doesn't make sense. It makes me wonder if custody means delaying someone and checking their passport. Are those people from most of those 171 countries just tourists? Why wouldn't someone see some of the wonders in Mexico and then go to places like the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone? People from 171 countries trying to sneak in is far fetched.

I read another article where the Texas Governor said people from 52 countries were apprehended in the last three weeks, so I figured the Governor lied about the timing, instead of figuring 52 countries can be that persistent. I also noticed the article saying 1000 more national guard deployed. Texas had 1000 Texas National Guard and 200 from other states when that was said. Texas has a population of around 29 million and the Governor says he'll bill the feds.

Odd how the head of the Boarder Patrol just managed to fade away.

Which means nothing to deter them from doing it in the first place. You guys need illegal votes and it's sad you just won't admit it

Lol..that's why the dems are trying to pass laws requiring less ID for voting.

So you think criminal penalties deter people from coming in but don’t deter them from voting illegally?

I think this whole conversation is BS and I'm not wasting more time on it. Clearly you guys want them here in unlimited qualities because instead of coming up with ways to deter them you come up with ways to make it easier. I'm not playing into this joke anymore...think what you want..let's agree to disagree...have a nice day

Except it is about considering it a civil offense rather than a criminal offense, not "open borders."

I hope you realize that the electorate is not ignorant enough to fall for this kind of disinformation in 2020. That ship has sailed. Trump's platform of bigotry and hatred is dead and sinking.

Open borders, reparations, no planes or cows in 12 years ...

    Liberalism is a mental disorder.

The policies coming out of the Democratic Party are just plain stupid. Six year old kids are more intelligent.

Trumpism is a mental disorder, considering it apparently has you believing all of that nonsense.

    So it's open borders.

Based on your description, it sounds as if there must be some sort of affirmative reason to deport someone, and if there isn't, they can stay.

Until their hearing, and if they miss it they could be deported. Deporting people here illegally is open borders?

How many decades before they get a hearing?

I imagine if we have a system like you're suggesting, the 100 million or so who would like to come to the US would just come on in, and considering the system is backlogged now, most would never live to get a hearing. And why would they need one? They would already be here. Besides, you would never deport someone who has a US born child so...

We deport people who have citizen children all the time. You can not like the policy, but it isn’t open borders.

The borders are already open. Its just a matter of how many more incentives we give people to risk the trip.

A policy like you're suggesting where you can cross the border, check in, and get to stay until some indeterminate time in the distant future is open borders.

Since that's clearly what you guys support, why are you running from the phrase "open borders?" It's a fairly exact description of the de facto effect of your suggested policies.

Not at all. These people still can’t get any of the benefits that legal residents get and can still be deported. Under no definition is that open borders.

Benefits don't have anything to do with open borders.

You say they can be deported, so let me ask you, did you support the ICE deportation push that Trump postponed? Are you in favor of those people being picked up and deported?

Nah I suppose a more targeted deportation agenda where the focus is on actual criminals.

It's not nonsense. We can find proof of democratic officials spewing all of these things. You guys are just in so much denial that even facts don't matter anymore

Well they're all criminals, but in this case, the raids were targeting people who already had been adjudicated with final deportation orders. And you still don't want them to go.

    Yep, you're open borders.
