Okay, two more TV shows produced by the Yanks ( I assume, anyway) about to start screening here in Oz. One is called Once Upon A Time and looks to be a sort of fantasy series, and the other is called Revenge which sounds rather boring, to be honest, but I will likely check them both out.

OUAT sounds the better of the bunch, so that will likely be the one I will stick with.

How successful are these two shows in the US and which, if any, do you prefer?

Geez... why does our trash get exported?

Once Upon A Time operates under the concept that everyone in a small town in New England (Maine, I believe) was a character in a fairy tale, and has no memory of their previous fairy tale life - except for this one guy and girl, and the girl has the power to break the spell the inhabitants are under.

Revenge is The Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas updated for the 21st century. It's like almost any other show of that genre - wealthy and beautiful people backstabbing each other.

My advice - watch Robot Chicken instead, especially the episode with Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd playing out the rap-off finale from 8 Mile! :)

So they are both crap then, lol. Figures. Looks like the only decent show we are getting is Homeland!

You are right, both shows suck. Don't know about Homeland, not my kind of show.

I disagree on Once Upon A Time. Given the premise, I expected it to be crap, but I admit I was surprised by the show. It is done by the creators of Lost and does rely on a lot of flashback, but I was surprised both by the ability of the show to suspend disbelief and the strong story and characters.

The ratings for this show were surprisingly strong in the States too. I would recommend giving it a try. If you're bored with the pilot episode, than it's just not for you, but you may end up liking it.

I usually give every new show a go, if I don't get hooked on the first episode, I don't usually go back to it. I'll watch each new one, though.

Season 2 has been going on about 2 months, and it's been going at a breakneck pace. I won't give any spoilers but everyone has been pretty busy.

For a recap of the Season 1 finale to get you ready, here's my review: Once Upon a Time Season Finale

Once Upon a Time sounds like it could be good, I've never seen either of them though.

^I have. My mum loves Revenge, we make sure that Monday night is hers. Tuesday night was mine, but this time around, with the new season, my night will be Thursday. I adore Regina. :)

Regina is actually the hottest one on the show.

Although being so deliciously evil doesn't hurt either.

I agree with you about that. I'm shocked I didn't discover Lana Parrilla earlier. You know she was in LOST and 24? I'm going to have to watch those shows again, lol!

I'm not much into the propaganda of the jewish entertainment industry in the USA.

They have poor taste in choosing actors and poor content in programming.

What I would like to see for a revenge show is one like this:

A group of former Spec Ops operators who retired from the military create a anti monopoly government agency in the USA, where they go after weathy families and their corrupt ways of capitalizing off others.

This special group is part of a secret government agency that was developed by a president who wanted corruption out of government.

This special group goes after weathy heads of corrupt corporations and does crazy things to them, and bizzare torture and slow painfull death with graphic content to make them examples for other corrupt corporate greed mongers.

But the plot thickens. the corrupt media mogules and executives counter the special government goups operators and it becomes like a mafia gang war.

And out of all of this comes a new generation and breede of vigilant revenge seekers.

Go ahead Jewish enetertainment people take this idea and run with it. I know it is against your principles and this type of revenge against weathy greedy money grubbing whores is not what you want people seeing. But it will sell. Because a lot of people are catching on to your greed. And if you are spiritual in your jewish faith, do you think you are worthy of being a holy person with your level of greed and wealth?
