“During a recent interview with Fox Business, Moore claimed that over the last 10 years, about five million people have left the so-called "blue states" Illinois, New York, California and New Jersey.

“This is one of the biggest mass migrations in American history,” he said.

Meanwhile, the so-called “red states” have seen an influx, per Moore.

“If you look at, for example, the states that gained the most population over the last 10 years, you're talking about obviously, Florida, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, those states, the Southeast now has a larger GDP — total combined economic output — than the Northeast,” Moore pointed out. “That's the first time that's ever happened in American history.” He's possibly referring to a Bloomberg story which sparked debate on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The trend is clear in recent numbers.“

It’s common sense. People are voting with their feet or U-Hauls. They are fleeing high cost of living states as well as those having unfriendly business ratings. High regulations and taxes are a big factor too.

Business activity and capital investment goes where the people are moving to from where they left. Blue states emptying out become more blue and red states become more red. It is often among the middle and working class people red voters leaving blue states for political as well as economic reasons.

That’s like 7-8 congressional districts moving from blue to red in the next census double that if present numbers persist. More clout taken from blue bi coastal urban areas and moved to red inland exurban to rural areas. The electoral college in 2032 will shift red.

I have suspected this for a long time. However there HAS been an influx to these blue states (most all sanctuary states and cities) by illegal invaders. Doesn't the 10 million over the last 3 years off set some that have left? Of course they bring nothing of value.

That's why the left wants them counted in the census.

California has net lost population since 2020 each year even accounting for illegal immigration, less in 2023 than prior years.

That’s true. When people and businesses move their tax base moves from the blue state to the red one as does the individual’s contribution toward their new states census numbers toward congressional seats and electoral votes to to the red and away from the blue.

That’s another reason why Trump needs to deport as many new illegals as he can so that they can’t be used for that purpose

I understand the point you are making but I wouldn't be too quick to assume there is a political earthquake going on. With the baby boomers retiring, you would expect to see an increase in movement southward where the COL is lower. In addition when your employer relocates you, you go are become unemployed so it isn't always voluntary. What remains to be seen is if there are areas that were violet turning blue within those states as a result.
