Looks like the best RV pollster and the best LV pollster have RomRy inching into the lead.

    Source

Couple that with Ryan's 50% approval now on Rass, and that this is before Romney's post convention ad blitz, and things are looking pretty positive in the RomRy camp.

It's also interesting that Americans are still very unfamiliar with Ryan, but as they get to know him they like him.

The post convention ad war is going to be very interesting. Romney has the war chest ready. There will be blood (metaphorically speaking of course).

This small margin will become a huge chasm in Romney's favor by November.

At this time in the Carter / Reagan race.... Carter was up +9. We all know how that turned out.

Not so fast, these are different times, a new generation of people have been created with their hands out. During the 80s, people actually believed in personal responsibility, not today.

Admittedly, things are going better than I expected after learning of Romney's VP pick. I knew Democrats would come out swinging over Paul Ryan, but I figured that by now they'd have most everyone convinced that Romney/Ryan '12 = Hitler/Satan '12.

Just remember this is still an endurance race. Ryan has great talent. That's what you want in the long run. He has the ability to completely dismantle every attack against him. Thats no small task, and not one many politicians can boast the ability. Both Romney and Ryan have proven to be resilient. They're both cool under pressure. People will gravitate toward that as they get to know them. Ryan is very talented, though. He reminds me of Kennedy even more than Reagan and is probably a little sharper than both. That's no insult BTW.

They are certainly trying with Biden telling people that republicans want to put blacks back in chains.

The left will try and hammer home every day the message (lie) that Romney and Ryan have no chance and no one likes them. They said this endlessly when Reagan ran for president. The propaganda wing of the dem party (media) is doing their dirty job but people just don't trust Obama and no one likes a failure. See ya', Barry!

I was pretty impressed with Paul's calm here:

    Yep, shameful for Biden even.

Once the ladies get to know him they will leave Obama in droves. Who wants a beta-male leader when you get two alpha male heros. Women don't want the lankey half black dude and the super old drunk uncle.

Even those who voted for Obama know the MSM machine churned out favorable news on the hour. Looking back, many are more aware of the obvious leanings. They won't be so fooled again and as MSM could lose market share if they once again provide cover for Obama, they risk losing credibility as well. They can't handle it the same way twice. Having used their entire stock last election, they are out of shinola and only have (*)(*)(*)(*) for which to paint Obama. How appropriate.

The Ryan VP pick was announced barely 3 days ago, so this is pretty amazing news to see such a level of support.

I'm willing to bet money on a Romney win come November.

And most of the country has no idea who Ryan is yet. I'm convinced there's very few that will listen to him speak and not be convinced of his competence. At this point, people are looking for competence.

I wanted to put this message in the main forum as well.

    Here's facts, liberals.

You relish seeing ideological and principled Conservatives having no choice but to harness the tools which this dysfunctional monetary and political system has provided, to assist in turning around the ship whose direction was determined by this same dysfunctional system.

You say "see! they're just like us! They're no better than us!".

But they - we - are. There's a difference between you and us. You celebrate this system, and see no flaws - at least none that cannot be fixed with even MORE interventionalism. You think you can simply write bigger and bigger checks, and impose increasingly onerous regulations, and pass another law to combat yet another perceived injustice. You shout "BE FAIR!" - as though you could possibly arrive at a definition with which everyone could agree.

And you think you can do that forever, and as you do, you'll approach Utopia.

But you can't. You're so blind to the hell on Earth you've created that you don't even recognize its symptoms anymore. You see them as just another thing to control or squash - another reason to grow Government yet again - and you simultaneously blame these dysfunctional symptoms on the final thing you want to squash: Conservativism and Traditional values.

You create this all-encompassing safety hammock that isn't affordable or sustainable, and you insist that it is. You are central planners, because you trust neither individuals or yourselves to do the right thing, and you don't understand that people individually working for their best self-interest IS the path to societal self-interest. Instead, you throw out platitudes like "fairness" and "social justice" as a cover for laziness and lack of self-accountability.

Oh, there's a difference. We see the mess your ideology has created. We understand the ills of this path. We don't want pain or suffering for our fellow man, so we swallow our principles in the hope of creating a soft and painless turnaround - a righting of the ship - thinking that if we can simply implement a little supply-side economics again, and do EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT, that we can get this economy moving and broadening again, and give people a little happiness back that has been missing for 4 years now.

And that's the Slough of Despond that you've created for us, due to your utter ignorance regarding economic principle.

Oh, there's big differences. We understand the realities of being forced to work with you while desperately wanting to defeat your ideology. We know that being pulled into the sty is going to get us muddy as well. But we can retain our principles, and keep our eyes fixed fast on the prize.

We want to shrink this cancerous Government trying - and failing - to be all things to all people. We need to. We have to extricate ourselves from the recklessness spending and lack of restraint that Neo-Keynesian monetarism has wrought on us. You hate greed, but you've simply shifted where it takes place. It's now in Government, where there is no check and balance, because its constituents are enslaved by promises of bread and cheese, and conditioned to believe that "the 1%" hate you and are stealing you blind.

But they're not. They're the best amongst us; the ones who know how to lead and to build and to succeed. For all of us.

    Big differences.

We're independent minded, and struggling for the day when it can be manifest. That day comes when our economy truly turns around. That day, when we excise from the halls of Government that diseased notion that it is Government's role to legislate fairness, and - with it - outcomes. That horrible notion that people cannot make it on their own; that they need cradle-to-grave entitlements, or the unfairness and rigged nature of life will swallow them up.

That metastic notion that we need Government to be our nanny.

So while people like Paul Ryan struggle to forge a plan out of this mess, and have to employ tools like TARP and stimulus to resuscitate the patient so close to dying to give themselves the chance to nurse us back to health the RIGHT way, you'll excuse me if I tell you to get out of the way, and shut up. We've listened to your addled ideas long enough, and can plainly see where it has gotten us.

    You've done enough.

But wait though, I though Gallup was one of those evil left leaning pollsters against you such as the MSM that you cons (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) & whine about on a daily basis.

Your (R)asspublican pollsters said that the (R)yan pick has done little to the current Presidential poll.

His level of enthusiasm over flows with competence and by that you're right, people are looking for competence and it's apparent with Ryan that he's the most competent out there.

I have to admit, it's refreshing to cut out the boob posts of boob posters.

I referenced 2008 because that was when the bottom fell out. Prior to that, there was happiness. Pre-crash.

Romney/Ryan are only neck and neck with Obama/Biden. Looks like premature celebration in here, lol.

Carter was way ahead of Reagan. No President in recent history has ever been reelected with Obama's numbers. I guess he wants to make history again, this time for more of a reason than just being a black guy.
