He was held for 3 years without trial, presumably because of neglect on the part of those in charge. But he repeatedly requested a trial, but was only repeatedly offered a plea bargain (suggesting maybe they were trying to coerce him into pleading guilty). Before ........................ After For 3 years spent in jail, he was only awarded $30,000 in compensation. Barely even covers the legal fees in filing the lawsuit. Never mind that he was Black, this could potentially happen to any of us.
