Senator _______, I am concerned about the proposed gun law changes. There is not one gun law that has ever prevented any of these mass killings. Increased security at vulnerable targets is the only answer to preventing the kind of tragedy that took place at Sandy Hook. If the perpetrator had been met by an armed security officer after he shot out the glass in the locked entry doors instead of the unarmed defenseless teachers ,the perpetrator might have been the only casualty or if it had been common knowledge that the school had armed security it probable would never have happened and the kind of weapon he had or the size of his ammunition clips would have been quite irrelevant. There has been armed security in many of our schools for years and there has never been a mass shooting in any of these schools. You could pass a hundred new laws against ever crime that exists, but it wont prevent that crime from being committed. Our packed to the brim prisons are evidence enough of that! Any person determined to carry out an insane senseless act of violence will find a way to do it no matter how many obstacles they encounter! Banning weapons and large capacity magazines is not the answer. There are millions of democratic and republican gun owners that feel the same way I do about this subject .
