Its more like when it serves "your" purpose Just because one cannot cannot explain an event doesnt automatically qualify it as a miracle especially when there are just so many variables involved . By definition, a miracle is when a known natural law of science is suspended or interupted given that all variables during said event are clearly well know and undisputed My sis has bee in 2 car accidents during her life. Each accident she lays claim it was a miracle she was not killed. Im happy my sister was not seriously harmed but there are too many unknown variables in an accident. Even in plane crashes there are unknowns. And even lighting strikes, people actually survive. Once again, some unknowns even with lightning strikes. When all variables are clearly known and a natural law is interupted, then one may truly have a claim to a possible miracle. For example, you stop breathing for 20 minutes in an ICU. Your cells absolutely receive no oxygen, aided or unaided and there is medical personnel to corrobrate and document the lack of oxygen for the 20 minutes. We know for a fact Brain cells begin to die after 6 minutes (more or less) with no oxygen. Then, 20 minutes later, you awake and you are fine. You act as if nothing ever a happened. You walk normal, talk normal. There there is no brain damage whatsoever. By definition, that would be a miracle as far as we know it BTW, Cancer recovery isnt necessarily a miracle either. There is too much we do not know about cancer and the body. Medicine it of itself techncally in many cases ist even a science. But biology is and we do know there is no getting around the 6 Plus (more or less) minutes of no oxygen to the brain.
God loves us. So he cures a lot of people from cancer, some because of fervent prayers from Christians, some to honor the sincerity of those praying to other gods, some because the person has more work to do and some to disguise the fact that most cures are associated with the prayers of Christians. Since most who recover are also following rules and treatments prescribed by a physician the doctors take credit.
