For what? They haven't killed anyone. They've disrupted trade. So what? the west disrupts trade all the time with sanctions. this certainly doesn't justify putting them on terrorist lists, when we haven't had them on that list for years.

Meanwhile, Israel is slaughtering civilians, and the US and UK has killed more people with their airstrikes than the Houthis could even hope to.

This is just about ****ing profits, nothing more, while Houthis are fighting against genocide. Shameful.

Depends on what you mean? In theater, Iran enjoys overwhelming advantage. Much more so than any of the reports I am citing indicate. But, overall, the US believes it enjoys "escalation dominance" and that belief has substantial justification, except its utility is limited by the costs and limited benefits risking such escalation to the point where the dominance can be effectively realized.

At a press conference during that period General Schwarzkopf was asked how reporters would know when the "real" invasion was beginning. No. That could have been done long ago. Palestinians are alive today because of Israeli grace and generosity.

The only thing that will end these conflicts is for both sides to treat the others as humans, not as obstacles to power. Israel is just as guilty as Hamas in this regard. If you think otherwise, you are either lying to yourself, or completely ignorant. Or both.

In the meantime, I am more concerned about Iran going after the terrorist bases in Pakistan. I am not sure Iran picked the best time for it.

 

In 1948 the Israelis chose partition. The Arabs chose war. The Arabs' problem has been that they are bad at war, so their position has become weaker over time. The Israelis owe them nothing.

The proximity of Pakistan is the primary reason why I think it would be reasonable for Iran to have nuclear weapons.

 

Which in no way makes it ok for them to slaughter civilians. There have been plenty of bad mistakes on both sides. None of it justifies what is happening now. There is no room for cold, hard power plays. There is only room for humanity, which Israel is showing none of.

 

Civilians always die in war, and Hamas is responsible for the war. They could stop it all by surrendering.

 

Both sides are equally responsible. Israel set up the horrible conditions that lead to the existence of groups like Hamas throught their terrible treatment of Palestinian civilians over the years. their treatment has not been the pretty picture you tried to paint. The Palestinians have basically been under siege for decades.
That of course does not make it OK for what Hamas did. And what Hamas did sure as hell doesn't make it OK for what Israel has been doing since then. Defending themselves is one thing. Slaughtering tens of thousands is NOT "defending" themselves.
The only way to end this ridiculous conflict is through diplomacy AFTER a total ceasefire.
Civilians always die, yes, but there is always an attempt to minimize those deaths. "Human shields" are not a green light for slaughtering those "shields". It instead means Israel needs to find other ways of resolving these issues. It is their brutality that causes radicalization that leads to groups like Hamas using those human shields, so it is up to Israel to find other ways to defuse the issue.

Otherwise, this situation will play out again, and again, and again, as it has since 1948.

 

Israel's only requirement is to prevail. They have no obligation to compensate for the callous stupidity of Hamas.
