BO peep sent his plan to Congress today to.....seems the Pentagon told BO what the real deal is. Yet BO just can't get the point to pass thru that dense grey matter he carries. Now the Pentagon has told Congress what is up. That there is a small group of them that can't be safely transferred. Nor prosecuted. This will be another loss for BO and his Team. What say ye?

The Pentagon is set to present to Congress Tuesday its much-anticipated and detailed plan for closing the detention facility at Guantanamo meeting a deadline set by the Senate Armed Services Committee.

The Obama administration's plan was supposed to have been presented to Congress in mid-November, but was delayed so that financial assessments could be inserted into the report.

"We’ve always been very clear about what needs to happen," Davis added. "So I think you’re going to find as you read it, when you see it, that many of these things you already know."

There are 91 detainees still at Guantanamo with 35 cleared for transfer to third countries, which can be a lengthy process as the United States requests specific security guarantees. It is the remaining 56 detainees who will likely never be released that are the focus of much of the attention. Ten are currently being prosecuted at Guantanamo, another 22 will be referred to prosecution and another 24 will remain in continued detention.

"We’re going to continue to transfer detainees to other countries that agree to take them," he said. "And take steps to make sure that the threat that they pose to the U.S. is limited. Second, that we’ll continue to prosecute those that can be prosecuted. And third, that there’s this small group of individuals that can neither be safely transferred nor prosecuted.“.....snip~

McConnell and Ryan gave him a couple reminders today. now we will see if wants to go with the EO and the Court action again.

McConnell to Obama: Don’t forget that it’s illegal to transfer terrorists to US.....

Count Mitch McConnell among the unimpressed with Barack Obama’s plan to close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay. The Senate Majority Leader responded to Obama’s declared plan to transfer its detainees to one or more of thirteen potential locations within the US by reminding the President that Congress has opposed such a move on a bipartisan basis. And, by the way, such a move would be illegal — under bills Obama has already signed:

Count Paul Ryan among the unimpressed as well:

If I remember correctly, Obama ignored that law and right out broke that law when he traded five dangerous Gitmo detainees for one army deserter.

Correct me if I'm wrong Seth Bullock, but were't these detainees classified as unlawful combatants ? I'm pretty sure they were.

That's why there was a big stink, if they weren't wearing uniforms they were unlawful combatants and should have been executed on the field of combat.

But the Bush administration had an idea of not executing these unlawful combatants but to detain them to gather intelligence and then execute them for being unlawful combatants.

If these detainees were POW's, they could legally held until the war on terror is over.

Exactly my point. There would be no legal issue in continuing to hold them, no worry that some can't be tried in a court of law. That's why I said .... "until Al Qaeda formally and unconditionally surrenders."

Reclassify them as POW's if it hasn't already been done.

They are either unlawful combatants or POW's.

If they are unlawful combatants. execute them.

If they are POW's keep them at Gitmo until radical Islam has been defeated.

Our semi-retired Golfer in Chief apparently forgot that it’s illegal to transfer terrorists to US. But the Head of the Senate, the guy without a chin, reminded him, and the "Teen-wolf" character that runs the House assured him that it would remain against the law..
And such a move would be illegal because of bills Obama signed into law. So Obama seems to have developed some sort of amnesia, this isn't' the first time he has been reminded that this is against the law, and that it was he that signed the laws into existence. Did he get hit in the head with a golf ball recently?

Even NBC News knows this is against the law:
    http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...w&hootPostID=9a452a72b765b336c4bd890d06ba6aca

All the money we spend making sure the President has sound legal advice and he is unaware of something that a reporter could tell him? Did he have a golf cart roll over his head recently or something?

Our Golfer-in-Chief explains why we should park AQ and Taliban terrorists in the US:
    https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-pres...ks-president-plan-close-prison-guantanamo-bay

So the guy that has run up $8,000,000M in debt now wants to save $85M a year? Obama, the guy who just put forward a budget proposal to spend more than $4.1 trillion in a single year, now wants this because it saves 0.0021% off Obama’s budget? He threw 6 times this amount away on just Solyndra. No. I don't think this is a particularly good argument to bring terrorists onto US soil.

His drone strikes are a much more potent recruiting tool than Gitmo, but he has no plans to stop those.

Even BO Peeps excuse for trying to close Gitmo is not valid. As he constantly stated that Gitmo does nothing to advanced our National Security.

First off and dealing with BO's deflection......this issue has nothing to do with Advancing National Security. Absolutely nothing. So the disingenuous and lame excuse he tries to use. Is nothing more than a Lame and Disingenuous excuse.

Second if AQ or their likes are the enemy with the War on Terror. Then decide if they are P.O.W's or Unlawful combatants. If they are the latter. Then execute them without any delay.
