    PeopleKind's Fault
    or
I refuse to feel so insignificant not to apologize for all Peoplekind.

Ancient leaves preserved under a mile of Greenland's ice – and lost in a freezer for years – hold lessons about climate change

Over the last million years, Earth’s climate was punctuated by relatively short warm periods, typically lasting about 10,000 years, called interglacials, when there was less ice at the poles and sea level was higher. The Greenland ice sheet survived through all of human history during the Holocene, the present interglacial period of the last 12,000 years, and most of the interglacials in the last million years.

Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,

regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.

Yes, the same people who warn about climate change are the ones who figured this out.

Did you have a point are are you just discovering what scientists have known for decades?

I don't like the likelihood that this warm period will end soon and return the Earth to a deep freeze state.

Ten thousand years is about the length of time since the first signs of human civilization appeared until today.

Is the next ice age going to return us to a primitive caveman state? Will we lose all of our advanced knowledge and become primitives huddling around the fire for warmth?

If you believe the old-earth evolution theory, or if you will indulge me for a bit, let's consider that humans have been around for over a million years in one form or another. And, we slowly grew into the form of modern humans with big brains. But modern humans have been around a while, and if it takes 10,000 years to build up a decent civilization, then there could have been several cycles of human civilizations that rose and fell during the changing cycles of ice ages.

Nuclear technology gives us the power to go subterranean if need be.

That sounds rather implausible considering the archaeological record does not reflect it

This is a theory that, while still considered 'kooky', is gaining in popularity ...or at least notoriety.

Personally, it seems plausible to me, though there is little if any officially recognized evidence (supposedly 'out of place objects' like gold jewelry found encased in coal or metal tools with fossilized wooden handles notwithstanding).

I'm 70 years old. When my doctor tells me I'm going to die of climate change I'll start worrying. It's also very cruel to teach your kids the world is going to end in their lifetimes due to climate change as well.

    Stop it! Just stop it!

Not likely. It is all about money. Greed will win out.

I'd point out that we have some excellent methods of warming the planet.

So, if humans are still around when things start cooling, we'll have some strong ideas about how to slow that process so humans can learn how to live under those conditions.

Sure, for someone who sees themselves as the only person of any importance in the world, who has no kids nor cares about those of others, who hasn't read the bible, etc., it's not surprising that someone would have that opinion.

Do you teach your kids and grandkids that they're going to die from climate change? Shame on you then. And what does reading the Bible have to do with anything? I prefer reading DC or Marvel Comics to that tripe.

Greed is exactly why we havn't properly addressed the issue. Regulations and change might cut into corporate profits, which will cut into the politician's wallets. Lucky for them they have fooled the dumb into thinking that protecting the planet is the scam.

I said we haven't addressed it because it is about money, not climate. So I get a backhanded insult that I am dumb?
