If mankind is this creative force then why doesn't it get to creating? Oh wait, that's right, wind generators kill birds and cause cancer (they also make strange whirring noises, by latest "report") Additional found resources notwithstanding oil and coal are FINITE resources, they will run out someday and in the meantime we have to breathe so why aren't we trying to convert over to something sustainable and non-polluting instead of using more and more oil and coal every day?

The best guesses, (and they are just educated guesses, but they're based on what's actually happened, not somebody's ideology) is that a warmed Earth will have more and worse blizzards (though slightly further north), more deserts, (like in our greatest national treasure, the farms of the Great Plains) a very large percentage of our best land inundated by the sea and an overall increase in tropical climate that malarial mosquitoes will just LOVE. Our planet will certainly be no paradise and the social dislocations promise to be horrendous. Still, the world will not end, that is true, and there will winners and losers; but WHY must we persist in making the problem WORSE, especially when the other major benefit of obviating AGW will be to be better able to breathe clean air and drink non-toxic water

Maybe that is right or maybe she said if you do not get your act together in the next ten years and reduce your co2 by at least 45% without pulling any stunts like sending things to another country or whatever - if the US does not do that then it pretty much will be goodbye. It pretty much will be too late. At the moment the US along with Saudi Arabia, Australia and some others are increasing their CO2 - doing the opposite of what is needed.

We are on last chance. Even though we all knew the situation many countries made the choice not to take care of the planet but to put enjoyment now as the most important thing and putting fossil fuels at the front of the queue. Some people believe we have left it too late. We may have but we absolutely as likely still have the possibility of maintaining life on earth - albeit in far less harmonious conditions re weather, land and food than could have been the case.

We are already experiencing the results of our refusal to look after our planet. Anyone who still likes to pretend this is not happening believes in no truth. I do not expect to be here when things get really bad. If I was Greta or any of the young people who work with her, I would be beyond furious at what the adults did not do when they knew the situation and had the opportunity to save the planet for people of her generation.

We almost certainly still can....but not to make what will be massive changes in order to get the 45% reduction before 2030 almost certainly will be the end and extreme things may well happen before that.

This guy believes we have left it too late. He is not alone in believing if we lose the ice on the artic it is over. This is no laughing matter any more. It requires immediate and continued action.
