'Pfizer and Moderna better get this clarified': Study finds worse antibodies after mRNA boosters

A new peer-reviewed study is raising concerns that a third dose of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines may actually worsen immune response against COVID-19, creating waves in both mainstream and heterodox COVID circles.

Published in Science Immunology last week, the study by German researchers found that mRNA boosting induced a high level of so-called IgG4 antibodies, a subclass known for prompting a mild immune response, in two cohorts of several dozen healthcare workers.

The "shift" to this IgG subclass was "not seen with adenovirus vector vaccines" in the study, Scripps Research Translational Institute Director Eric Topol, who was not involved in the research, tweeted while cautioning that "clinical significance is not known."

"Pfizer and Moderna better get this clarified," California gastroenterologist Farid Jalali, who once pressured the FDA to fast-track COVID vaccines for infants, wrote in response to Topol before marking his account private.…

This news report is very interesting and quite troubling for many. At least Twitter won’t be burying it. It seems according to this peer reviewed study that MRNA boosters are counter productive.

I too got the 1st two shots with the Pfizer vaccine. It exacerbated existing diabetic neuropathies in me and I never got a single booster since.

What I suspect is happening is folks are taking a snippet of information and claiming it reinforces their anti-science beliefs, but no one really has read the paper nor understands it.

Now, did variants develop that evaded immunity? Absolutely, and we always knew that Sars-Cov2, as a retrovirus, just like HIV, likely has the ability to mutate rapidly. Now, we are lucky it doesn't mutate as fast as HIV, but it is still fast enough to render vaccines less effective over time.

Therefore, it is great that we now have an ACTUAL treatment in the form of protease inhibitors, i.e. paxlovid. Since the cysteine in the binding site is conserved, the virus cannot overcome inhibition by mutation as easily. We know that from HIV, too. Why doctors are not prescribing paxlovid more often, resulting in 2000+ deaths per day due to covid, I don't understand.

 

LoL.... if you are vaccinated, you do not qualify for this medication (unless you have some other pre-existing condition). Paxlovid is only for the pure bloods. How do you like the government punishing you for doing what they told you? This is just hilarious.
