I have never pretended that there would be a simple solution, but the extreme position of no level of gun control would work isn't a solution.
But we have gun control measures in place. Most mass shootings are committed by people that are already barred from owning a firearm or should be. Parkland, the Texas church, Pulse, and Dayton immediately come to mind as people that shouldnt have had access to firearms because of their well documented history.
There are gun control laws, Chicago has plenty of them but they don't seem to do much good. What else may help towards a long term solution? Perhaps we have to change society and the culture?
The right thing to do is often the most difficult thing to do. The progressive approach seems to be throwing blanket laws on guns and gun owners in hopes that criminals and nihilistic sociopaths will somehow change.
I've a simple and genius answer, we can simply make shooting innocent people illegal....Nah, lets stick with making a bunch of new laws that will only burden the law abiding, instead of enforcing existing laws that would end the shootings. Or...we can just declare guns illegal, that's how we got people to stop manufacturing, consuming or selling drugs. Liberal 'logic'.
