Don't know? I haven't studied human development for a long time. I do remember reading that we don't remember everything we see and hear...but only the things we focus on repeatedly...which establishes synapses between neurons...but I'm already in over my head (must not have focused on it much).

I once read that some ghetto kids run away from the police for fun.

The blame game is circular, and self perpetuates. It stops when each side honestly accepts responsibility for it's roles and goes about changing what's wrong. Eliminating racism has been a major and extensive as well as expensive priority since Lyndon Johnson and the "great society" idea took hold. We have changed so much that we reached the point of electing a black president twice. Interracial marriage is widespread and opportunity for black people is virtually everywhere. Black athletes, mayors, governors, doctors, etc. But the issue that keep the black community depressed are still in place, because they still think somebody else can fix what only they can control. As I pointed out.... the grossly disproportionate crime data is virtually unchanged in 70 years. The lack of social structure to raise kids with solid values systems is still critical. The only people responsible for black behavior today - are black people. I'll certainly agree that everyone in a group suffers from the group image, and blacks are. So are white children who are being told they are racist because of their skin color when they have no idea what's going on or why, and had nothing to do with the problems of history nor any power to change it.

I believe that this continuing blame and demands is likely to resurrect real racism. Instead of bringing people together- it's going to separate them further, and that will not be good for the future of black people or the nation. The behavior we see today in terms of the riots, the excuses for crime and the attacks on everything white can't have any other outcome- It says the radical blacks aren't interested in joining a peaceful society and don't like it's values. That part of the black community prefers violence and anarchy, and zero accountability. One has to ask who's steering the bus here- the good citizens or the radicals. I think it's the radicals, because we don't hear objections to what they are doing from the good citizens. If you aren't against them.... you are for them, a tacit approval that binds the roles together. Not good; not smart.

Every life and every group encounter obstacles in life. To thrive- one must know what is within their control and what is not. When you blame your choices on something you have no control over- you give your power away. If the side you blame accepts that blame and responsibility, they give their power away. We wind up with a paralyzed society- where nobody is working on the things they have the power to change, so nothing changes for the better- But It does tend to get worse as a result.

The last place I worked where I needed spanish was Venezuela, long ago- but I found the people there to be hard workers, friendly and respectful. Even then, I struggled with spanish, but I always tried to use it, because I was the guest, it was my responsibility, and they appreciated my efforts. They were patient and helpful. I was comfortable with the people- but concerned with the government. I worked a month there- and all the time, under martial law and curfew. Given that stress, I thought very highly of the people and how they handled it. I think a great deal of discrimination comes from culture and attitudes rather than skin color.

My religion, if one can call it that- is nature. Something very common, near universal in nature is animals recognizing threats- and most animals see humans as a threat. The exception occurs in places where humans have never been to any degree, and animals there react more with curiosity than caution or fear. I do think that there is the probability that an offspring who have never encountered a human may have a negative perception inherited from parents. I give animals a lot more credit than many people do, most of them are pretty smart, and certainly successful.

Very good....except, it has been the right wing that has brought up CRT this time. And, coincidentally, at a time just prior to the investigation of a "white riot" and attack on our nation's Capitol Building. I smell a diversion. And, the bit about "who's steering the bus" may be asked in regard to the far right as well. Perhaps over the next few weeks we'll learn more in regard to that question? If the black community is responsible for black radicals, I presume you also believe that the white community is responsible for white radicals? I'd say we're all responsible for all radicals. I'll repeat my thought: over time the culture will reflect the electorate. The attempts in numerous right wing states to suppress the black vote is an attempt to retain a white authoritarian culture. Won't happen. True individual freedom and liberty is an equal say in the decision-making process. IMO, the new culture formed by a new electorate will be neither white or colored, but increasingly based on science.

We're animals and have evolved from other forms. Here is a quote, I ran across while browsing through the Cambridge Encyclopedia of Human Evolution (pages146-147): "Primates have long memories and can remember their relatives and friends even after a lengthy absence. Kin selection might lead to evolution of other mechanisms of kin recognition. These are found in several species, including rhesus macaques. Here, juveniles that are reared apart from birth show a preference for their genetic relatives over unrelated individuals, even though they have never seen any of them before. The mechanism involved is uncertain, but may include similarity of body odor and facial features." I'm suggesting that different physical appearances may trigger a "fear" or "danger" early warning signal (although certainly not in all humans...re. mixed ethnic marriages and friendships). My experience has been there is less ethnic prejudice among people who have traveled extensively, are well educated and have lived in mixed ethnic environments, whereas people (white or colored) who live in "tribal environments" (urban ghettoes or rural areas) tend to exhibit more ethnic prejudices. Let me give a physical example...we're all still born with appendices, but not everyone suffers from appendicitis. IOW, it is a useless organ that once had a purpose, but no longer does, and may in fact cause a dangerous condition. Ethnic prejudices may be similar.

Reported. I would imagine the real number is larger...but I take your point and agree that overall law enforcement does a good job.

The thirteen hundred comes from an assumption that their is surely more than the 900 to a 1000 yearly reported. Note we know of about thirty killings of unarmed blacks and as many as ten of those appear to be erroneously reported in 2020.

More than a few of those have to do with the fact that a woman of 5'4" doesn't have much other recourse against 6'+ dude who decides to go medieval on her. There is a reason many police forces used to have a minimum height standard.

And, I've watched too many movies wherein a policeman will plant a weapon on the victim...thus taking that shooting out of your statistics. But, again, I think law enforcement overall does a good job.

Every group has it's radicals, it variants, if there is any size to it and especially in people become part of it by simply claiming it. It's the mainstream, the majority that tend to be the most definitive, and what kind of behavior they support.

We frequently see the left calling the right guilty for the precise behavior that is common behavior for them- and I've seen damn near nothing to support that. You should smell diversion- the left has been doing this since Trump announced he would run, when the press and dem leadership dismissed all character values and just manufactured crap. That's not mean as an insult to you or anyone in particular, just an observation of undeniable fact that any honest person could see.

The image of the left that conservatives see is one that oppresses individual freedoms. That is always going to be unacceptable; the nation was built on the premise of such freedoms. Science should not rule politics either; there is and always has been conflict in science, and it is forever revising itself, which it should. But at any one time- a good part of it is wrong, and freedom gives individuals the right to decide who to trust.
You do that when you pick a doctor, for example- you have the right to chose one that you have confidence- or non at all and self-medicate. The importance of that is illustrated by the fact that medical mistakes are the third largest cause of death in America. You have a right to be wrong- because the consequences fall on you, you are responsible for your own choices. Being responsible is what makes you careful and prudent in the first place.

I've seen nothing to validate the idea that the right has tried to suppress black votes- but I've see a great deal where the left has tried to convince black voters of that. I don't find that surprising as they have used the generation of hate and division as a political weapon all along.

One such example is the way the capitol "riot" was covered and projected by the left and it's media. Given the damage it was a lot more a peaceful protest than the riots in Minneapolis, Portland and a dozen other places that were called "peaceful protests" but did nearly a $billion in damages to property and people that had nothing to do with any issues, and resulted in substantial physical harm. You may deny it, but it's becoming clear that special interests were on hand to promote the outbreak of violence at the capitol- but we've see outside agitators in nearly every riot situation. All this was simply anti-Trump, the need to destabilize in order to manipulate and seize power. Now that they have power... they are botching the job so bad that the chances of losing both houses in the next election is probably a sure thing. By the time it gets here- they will have made thing much worse. I've never seen such incompetence in governance in my life, and I remember Harry Truman.

The way forward- the right way- is for people to agree on common ground and values, and work together on details. That would be classified as partnership thinking, where we win or lose together. What we have right no is severe adversary conduct from the left- in order for one side to win, the other must lose. Kind of like fighting over something minor that is disrupting and endangering all of us- who are in the same airplane. It's impossible to agree on common grounds when denial is so constant. It's also impossible to respect people when they do that, and the subject is clearly defined.

I keep looking for someone with an idea that would resolve things fairly; I'm not finding anyone, at least anyone people might listen to.

Trump asked the crowd to help him to convince Pence to break the "rules" (i.e. the law). That was a violation of his oath of office. He should have been removed from office and tried for sedition.

Trump did not do that at all. This is a major problem in America, the daily telling of lies about Trump. Pence would not have broke the rules. Believe me, if Trump did what you claim, Democrats would have him in prison right now.

Trump took no oath to elect Biden.

You implied that the police shoot the right person 90% of the time. So...what about the other 10% they shoot?

He did ask him to do exactly that. The problem is, Pence doesn't have that power. So Trump asking him isn't really a crime given there's no way Pence could undo a legally held election. So technically, you're right and wrong at the same time. Right in the good way at least.

Republicans long ago should never have trusted the media and worked very hard to have key people in the Media.

FOX News never got big enough to handle the Democrats.

Back when the president was Woodrow Wilson as a Democrat, he sold racism to this country using a movie.

Birth of a Nation was acceptable to Democrats.

What you say Trump wanted is like I want a new Boeing 757 Max. I won't get it, I still want one.

This is your important part. asking him isn't really a crime given there's no way Pence could
