Why are they doing this? Trump's not even actually very pro-life.

    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/p...0-million-into-midterm-elections-to-fight-tru

Could it be they actually have other political motivations, besides just the abortion issue?

Two of the Twitter comments sited were very insightful:

Planned Parenthood to spend $20 MILLION in 2018 to oppose Trump.

We, the taxpayers, give Planned Parenthood $500 MILLION every year.

    You do the math.

Our tax money is being spent to attack Trump.

People are losing it over the NRA. Now, imagine that they were FUNDED by the government (taxpayers) and spent 20 million dollars pushing the Republican agenda during election season.

The NRA isn’t doing that. But Planned Parenthood is.

I got a FB post from a candidate for District Judge today... with a big PLANNED PARENTHOOD banner supporting her.

Either a brilliant idea or the dumbest move ever, depending on how many pro-abortion voters there are. Guess we'll see come election day. I'll report her results here, stand by. ;)

There is no such thing as PRO Abortion, this is a term made up by PRO Life people to get a rise. Just as ANTI Choice was created for the opposite effect. No one has EVER tried to force someone to abort....EVER !

Another good reason to end funding. They obviously have too much money.

No, youre wrong. There are pro choice people and then there are PRO-ABORTION people who live to defend abortion. Those are the ones who would blindly support a candidate simply because he/she is backed by PP.

Another slobbering lie from the infamous and erroneous and Anti-Women's Rights website , LIEnews....

The NRA and others can use their money for political reasons and PP can't....sounds like a Trumputopia...lie and denigrate the opposition, cut them off, silence them, don't let them speak like you let your supporters speak...

Funny, in all my years involved in the abortion issue I have never met or heard a "Pro-Abortion" person.

There are Pro-Choice people who work hard to maintain rights for women that all other people have.

    But NO one promoting abortion....

Then there are the Anti-Choicers who want to take away women's CHOICE, their rights.

They give themselves the silly name of "Pro-Life"...but it's only the fetuses "life" they're concerned with....once it's born they say to hell with it, cut funding to anything that supports BORN CHILDREN, like Welfare, SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, even healthy school lunches and PBS kid's educational shows!!!!!!!!!

    So they are NOT "Pro-LIFE"..

NRA is using money voluntarily given to them for the purpose of protecting the second amendment. Planned Parenthood is using millions of dollars that are forcefully confiscated from tax payers. That's a big difference.

PP gets donations....Good for them for fighting those whose sole goal is destroying women's rights to their own bodies...

Then we need to withhold tax dollars as they obviously have a surplus. As you know, I certainly agree with their mission, but forcing tax payers to support candidates crosses a line.

Do you really believe the crap from Lienews ?

But gee, I wonder where that money is coming from then. All those low income women who can barely afford their abortions? Is Planned Parenthood running a for-profit abortion mill and turning them into one big cash cow?

This is about midterms so it’s not really against Trump personally. They’re apparently focusing on specific regional races involving much more “pro-life” candidates.

Well as an organisation they’re interested in other reproduction and healthcare questions and probably support some of the wider women’s rights issues but politically I’d say it seem pretty much single-issue.

I’m not clear why this specifically is a problem though. Do you object to single-issue organisations spending large amounts of money supporting political campaigns (something I’m not a huge fan of, though it’s hard to address) or is it only the ones supporting issues you disagree with? At least they’re being very open and honest about what they’re doing and what they stand for, which is in stark contrast to much of the money that appears in to political campaign coffers.

They'd hardly need tax at all if they focused on womens health instead of political activism.

Two things wrong with this story.

One is that the Planned Parenthood that receives Federal Money is a seperate entity from the Planned Parenthood PAC.

Second, is that the Planned Parenthood PAC gave about $700,000 to various campaigns in 2016, so the claim that they can up that to $20 million is pure Bull ****.

I’m going to rate this thread as a lie.
