I am reading this from what I consider to be a credible journalist, but he relates an almost incredible story. I lived in the U.S.A. when I attended college from 1972 to 1976 and this would not have happened then, except maybe in some isolated part of Dixie where cops were out of control. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/american-shakedown-police-won-t-charge-you-but-they-ll-grab-your-money-1.2760736 Please, if you are an American, let me know, as this seems to truly totalitarian! If I have to an alibi as to why I have an air freshener in my car, it seems both scary and ludicrous at the same time. This story wold not surprise me if the subject was Latin America or Russia. But, surely not the U.S.A.! "It usually starts on the road somewhere. An officer pulls you over for some minor infraction — changing lanes without proper signalling, following the car ahead too closely, straddling lanes. The offence is irrelevant. Then the police officer wants to chat, asking questions about where you’re going, or where you came from, and why. He’ll peer into your car, then perhaps ask permission to search it, citing the need for vigilance against terrorist weaponry or drugs. What he’s really looking for, though, is money".
its becoming a cashless society more now , just another example the NWO wants everything electronic.. to tax and track your transactions, there making a example of people like this in the news, for purpose.. for every action theres a reason behind it..
Oh wow! The police steal sometimes ?! Well, I guess it's true. I went to the hospital earlier this year, taken by the police, and one of the doctors asked me if they took anything from me, because sometimes it happens. But they didn't take anything from me, not that I had any money on me at the time.
Sorry Diuretic - Hate to disillusion you, BUT It's Real In the Land of the Free & the Home of the Brave Do a search - either on Utube or the Web - "civil asset forfeiture" Here's ONE of literally Thousands . .
It can't be constitutional. "Civil" or criminal, I can't see how it can be that one can be presumed guilty until they prove themselves to be innocent and this with great legal cost.
Is it pursuant to the law? Is it open and transparent? If yes to both then it's not illegal. If the law is a crap law then change it. The interpretation seems to be that the police are acting unlawfully. Is that actually the case? I have to ask.
Yes. It's true. Our police officers are now expected to pay for themselves via quota systems. The people affected typically can't afford the legal services required to protect their Constitutional rights, and public defenders won't even attempt to do so.
