In the documents, there is a revelation that came from an interview with an unidentified person who suggested that Freedom of Information Act requests related to Clinton went through a group sometimes called “the Shadow Government.” “There was a powerful group of very high-ranking STATE officials that some referred to as ‘The 7th Floor Group’ or ‘The Shadow Government.’ This group met every Wednesday afternoon to discuss the FOIA process, Congressional records, and everything CLINTON-related to FOIA/Congressional inquiries,” the FBI’s interview summary said. In June of 2015, The Pentagon released a book of instructions on the “Law of War,” detailing acceptable ways of killing the enemy. The manual also states that journalists can be labeled “unprivileged belligerents,” an obscure term that replaced “enemy combatant.” It has an extensive section on journalists, including the fact that they can be labeled terrorists because of what they report or leak. The call also goes out to independent journalists, editorial cartoonists, comedians and artists. “In general, journalists are civilians. However, journalists may be members of the armed forces, persons authorized to accompany the armed forces, or unprivileged belligerents,” the manual states. The term “unprivileged belligerents” replaces the Bush-era term “unlawful enemy combatant.” The Pentagon, however, does not specify the exact circumstances under which a journalist might be declared an unprivileged belligerent. It is obvious that war had been declared on those who release information that is not permitted for the average person to consume. It is a clear case of a double standard where our government chooses to ignore First Amendment or free press rights when its own perceived interests are seen as endangered. The greater glory of god, or perhaps the greater glory of humanity? Either way, in the future, someone has to die in order to allow others to live. But who are the others?
