You can't make someone see something if it makes them wrong. Illegal aliens don't stay at the border. They continue on to neighborhoods like the one I grew up in. At one point, they wanted to build a way around the police station to keep them safe from the dangerous gangs in the area. My school was so dangerous, the school newspaper had an obituary section!

You guys are assuming that Trump wants the wall. Negotiation 101 always start high and then settle for what you really want. Trump is a real estate guy, he knows how difficult, expensive and time consuming building a wall across the entire border would be and on top of that the maintenance. So he pushes super hard for the wall, gets everyone riled up and then "concedes" he will take extensive border patrol increases along with drones and other gizmos alongside more pervasive employer checks perhaps increasing the fine for hiring an illegal or something. I give it a 50/50 chance that this is the case.
You're right about one thing, what ever trump concedes to his lackeys will claim it was what he wanted all along. And then the dems will claim that if trump had only asked for it in the beginning the entire government shutdown fiasco would have been avoided.

Let's assume that a wall reduces the number of illegal immigrants are able to successfully enter the country. How does that reduction make your specific school or neighborhood safer?
