I find it interesting that you want to deflect Trump's inexplicable deference toward Putin and the in-plain-sight statements and actions that Trump has taken which are obviously pleasing to Putin by counter-arguing that the multi-national Iran deal is an example of a previous President having taken the podium to denounce US intelligence while praising the very strong assurances to the contrary from the adversarial leader that US intelligence was wrong.

If you want to debate the merits of the Iran deal, that is a separate discussion that we might find some common ground on.

It is a mistake in my opinion, this is how Trump should be treating China. They are the threat, not Russia. Russia is over. China is an existential threat to the entire globe.
