So, if none of the GOP candidates get to 1144 and the 1st vote at the GOP convention does not yield a nominee, what happens?

I understand that many of the delegates will become "unbound" after the first vote, and more after subsequent votes.

If it is true that many of the delegates are actually Ron Paul supporters, then it must be true that a brokered convention is not only possible, but a Ron Paul nomination is possible too.

Your assuming that most of the delegates support Ron Paul and that's a big assumption.

Actually, I am assuming the many of the delegates do, and so far I am right in the caucus states.

Warren G. Harding went in with the least number of delegates and won on the 10th ballot.

I REALLY have my doubts about things swinging Ron Paul's way, but there are some interesting happenings, nonetheless. It's now a 2 man race and RP is in a stronger position than the media lets on. They are content to move the dialogue along to Obama v Romney and to totally ignore Ron, but the delegate strategy is paying off. It ain't over yet.

Also, many evangelical leaders are taking a second look at Ron Paul and are telling their people that a Christian must be elected, even if it means voting third party. We all know what that means. They consider Romney to not be a Christian. They are a huge voting bloc, though, and could be a game changer if they throw their support behind Ron Paul.

Ron Paul would actually be worse than Obama and would bring this country to literally a standstill. You can kiss a lot of programs away like the Amber Alert bill and stuff like that.

I tend to agree, but to many, improper action is worse than inaction. If Ron Paul did initiate action, I could guarantee that the results would be worse than the results from the President's policies.

Ron Paul would not win against Obama. He would be the nail in our collective coffins.

There's been multiple polls that showed Paul beating Obama head-to-head.

Speaking of Amber Alerts, a 6-year old girl is missing from her house, which is an 8-iron from my office. She's been missing since Sat. morning. No Amber Alert because nobody saw a car.

I would like to see it modified also but so far its saved the lives of over 500 innocent children. Children who would be dead today if Ron Paul had his way.

Crossing my fingers for the brokered convention. The MSM would go insane.

That statement is just dumb. It's not beyond the states' authority nor the power of technology for them to co-ordinate nationally for missing children. There's no reason it needs to be a Federal thing.

Jeez, it's a wonder some people manage to wipe their own butts without instructions issued from Washington.

A Ron Paul presidency would be the worst thing that could possibly happen to this country right now.

I don't like this. I don't like the fact that people voted in these primaries, and Ron Paul did not win those contests, yet he could potentially get snuck in through the back door. If that happens, you can bet the RNC will be trying to change primaries at the state level to prevent that from happening again.

But please God, no Ron Paul. You can have Romney, I'll give you that. Just please, no Paul. Even though I plan to vote for Obama, I'll vote for Romney if you want me to. I'll even write it on my shirt and wear it proudly. Just please...PUUHHHLLLEEAAZZZEEEE no Ron Paul.

    Really?

Worse then a nuclear terrorist attack?

    Worse then another great Depression?

Worse then having to read your posts much more?

    I doubt it.

The Fed has only caused problems.

This video explains it better then I ever could:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeIljifA8Ls&list=PL750B25C16C20DC8C&index=13&feature=plpp_video

No offense, but you do not understand the world.

Forgetting the first parts which i totally disagree with and you have ZERO unbiased proof to back up your statements as they are all guesses...the Saudi's will sell their oil to whomever pays the going rate.

And even if for some reason they stopped - America gets almost 3 times more oil from Canada and Mexico then it does from Saudi Arabia.

America does not need to kiss the Saudi's butt's any longer.

Or Israel's for that matter...let them fix their own problems.

    http://205.254.135.7/dnav/pet/pet_move_impcus_a2_nus_ep00_im0_mbbl_m.htm

Of course Paul got nothing passed - almost no one in America agreed with him...until now.

But if he won the POTUS - then obviously most would. Which means most want his policies. Which means most in Congress would be obligated by public pressure to go along with Paul and vote with him. And since they are 90+% spineless politicians who crave power more then anything else - most would.

No. Admittedly, you got me here. A nuclear attack would likely be worse, but it's not an automatic given.

More likely the cause of one.

It must break your heart to see others not worship The Myth, The Man, The Legend, The One, The Only, Ron Paul, Destroyer of Worlds!

Haha, most so called conservatives on this site are a joke. They call Obama communist, marxist, and everything in between, yet they bash the only real conservative in the race, Ron Paul. Let's be real, the big gov cons are worse than liberals, at least they let you know they want big gov.

I really, really hope Ron beats Romney.

I admire your optimism, but Romney has the nomination locked up and will whip oboobma in November.
