Since white privilege is perception, lets play a game just for fun=)

Who seems to have more privilege and probably does?

Conclusion?? Color means NOTHING. How people perceive you which is based on how you present yourself(something you control), means EVERYTHING. And most of all, it can be bought and that crosses all racial lines.

How we choose to portray and present ourselves in life is a conscious choice we all make, although the socioeconomic group we are raised in plays a great deal in our choices.

You'd make a good Marxist. Class, rather than race, is seen as the dominant factor. Thus, even black discrimination is also about increasing exploitation of the working class white.

I do hope you've invested in a suitably spiffing beret!

So your contention is that models are a protected class.

Nah. No one should be a protected class. But a black model has a lot more privilege than an ugly white person. So in other threads when someone asked if you'd be black for a year... Yes, I'd happily be a beautiful black model for a year and enjoy all the amazing perks they enjoy;)

True. Economic means benefits you far more in life than your race. Better to be rich than poor no matter what color you are. There is no "white" privilege unless that's code for being higher on the socioeconomic ladder, which is sort of racist. Ask Will Smith's kids how much privilege they have compared to any average white family=) But even if you're rich and black, you'll still be placed on the top of the pile when applying for college, because the diversity rates they need to hit don't include socioeconomic status. Sucks for the smart, but poor white kid. He's not protected at all. He's dead last!!!

Instead of photos, how about words:

The son of two professionals, one a medical doctor and the other an educator, applies for a scarce spot at a prestigious university. Also applying for a spot at the same university is the daughter of a single mother, who has been homeless at times.

The boy's parents hired SAT tutors and sent him to a private high school known for placing its students at prestigious universities. The girl went to the local public high school, where it was common for the police to visit the campus daily due to violence.

The girl far outscores the boy on her SATs and ends her high school career with a better GPA then the boy.

But the boy is accepted to his university of choice, and the girl is rejected.

    Why?

Simple; the boy and his parents are black, and the girl and her parents were white.

She is considered to have a much more 'privileged' upbringing simply because of her race.

This is they type of nonsense that affirmative action and the whole white privilege myth has wrought...

There have actually been several studies done that show pretty people are promoted more often, fired less often, and have a higher standard of living than ugly people. Not a protected class but definitely a privileged one.

The only real privilege is wealth, with enough of it rules no longer apply.

I wish I was a pretty, rich person; life would be easy

Not sure how documented empirical research, repeated in numerous papers and tested for robustness, can be a myth. Are you mything over myths?

It should be a felony to base admissions or employment on race.

If you're asking if I accept on face value biased research conducted by leftist educators at leftist universities under the guise of black/Asian/Hispanic/Women's/gender studies, the answer is nope.

Post one and I'll evaluate it, and also see if it has been evaluated by a normal American, then I'll get back to you...

One of the best parts about living in
    The O.C.
is there are fewer really ugly people here
    in the O.C. population.

If anyone deserves equal protection and opportunity,

    it is the ugly.

We may not all agree on what ugly is.
But, LOOKISM counts as a true advantage
    regardless of race.

Your assumption being that every university accepts black kids over white kids 100% of the time?

    I live comfortably.
    That’s all I want.

From the individuals I know that are wealthy: it only brings misery.

That is the problem with Democrats. I know because when I was a Democrat, that was accepted gospel. Mom used to coach me by telling me how miserable the wealthy are.

Then I actually started meeting them. They were all happy. none were miserable.

Nope. I am just very well aware of how 'educators' and researchers are guided more by ideologically desired outcomes rather than true science.

As I said, post one of these studies you cite and I'll see how normal Americans, not extremist left-wingers, evaluated it...

Nope. I'm saying many universities will often accept minority students over more qualified white students, regardless of class or background.

Thus, we see very wealthy black and other minority families send their students to universities at the expense of better qualified poor, white students, all in the name of 'diversity.'

How often is this happening? Do you have any stats showing how many “better qualified poor, white students” are not able to go to college because a black or other minority got in?

I have a few rich and one very wealthy family members including, one that owns an extremely large specialty law firm. Numerous affairs, children that are drug addicts, lazy, all of them agree they want more wealth in spite of already having more than most people could dream of. It’s never enough. Several of them admit they were happiest around the 100k a year mark — zero of them would go back though because money is more important to most people.

You also seem to confuse the rich (people earning a few million a year) with the wealthy, People that can make three and four generations past them also wealthy just because of the family they are born into.

And btw I am far from a Democrat, I’m just not a sheeple like your base expects everyone to fall in line with. You should know the difference in your age — I guess it doesn’t bring everyone wisdom.

Anytime you have quotas it always means a more or at least similarly qualified candidate was not chosen. Simple logic.
