I don't understand why almost everyone has an issue with reducing the population.

 

Although I understand some have a problem with abortion for religious reasons, even the Bible mentions life beginning with "blood", which is several days into pregnancy. That said, the fact many "pro-lifers" have no problem with the death penalty even though innocent people have been executed nor do they have a problem with the "collateral damage" of bombing Islamic villages nor kicking Mexican kids into the desert. The hypocrisy of some is ass deep.

I prefer that abortion be legal, safe and rare. Good sex education and effective contraceptives will minimize unwanted pregnancies. An unwanted pregnancy has been proved to not only hold back women from attaining self-sufficiency but also increasing the crime rate.

 

I wouldn't consider it hypocrisy if they'd just admit they were selective about who's lives they considered more valuable. Instead of supporting the idea of all life being valued. I'm sure plenty of fetuses from the 1980's and 1990's that "pro-lifers" wanted to be born are now the Leftists "cucks" they love to hate so much, so I find the way they some of them go about expressing their pro-life stance quite laughable. Yet also sad in a way.

I agree completely with your second paragraph. Abortion should be legal and safe, but not taken lightly. The right improvements on sex education, social conditioning and contraceptives can counteract the crime rate, women's self sufficiency, and the negative physical and psychological outcomes of our "hook-up" culture rather than relying on traditionalist Judeo-Christian values. This way we can keep our pleasurable lifestyles and make them work safely and efficiently.

When it comes to a fetus, at a certain point in its growth is become a human being so a legal medically-based cutoff point has been made at 24 weeks. You seek to demand women, mostly poor and/or low IQ women continue to bear children, most of whom eventually become welfare recipients or prisoners. Either way, "We, the People" end up paying about $30,000/year for each of those mistakes rather than simply $750 for an abortion. Better to let women choose. Why do you want to spend other people's money like that?
