    Actually, most of the Monarchies initially refused new world exploration, because they were almost entirely Catholic, and the Church's official stance was that the world was flat and no land existed across the ocean.

    The only reason Spain agreed to fund Columbus's voyages was because he swore to bring Christianity to any people he saw, and spreading the faith was something Spain was greatly invested in.

    You're repeating long debunked grade-school myths. The Catholic Church did NOT teach that the Earth was flat at the time of Columbus' voyages.

    That curve would alter depending on the angle it was at, which varies. A sphere gives the same curve at any angle, which is what we see.

    No, Galileo's troubles came about because he postulated that Earth revolved around the Sun instead of the other way around as was commonly believed then. It had nothing to do with any flat-Earth theory. You are again dealing in wive's tales.

    In my 49 years, I've never seen straight line on the outside of the moon. YEs, on the inside, but the outside is always curved.
