Progressive want America weak and her citizens poor. Few things prove this more than their position on domestic energy production. We could have tons of high paying jobs and a hedge against inflation but instead we are cucked by globalist climate radicals, foreign despots, and we'll soon see a national average over $5/gal with all the increases in food stuffs and other goods that come with it.

But don't let this reality get in the way of another fake news cycle.

This is mind blowing to me. Literally absolutely moronic. Given everything that is going on right now it guarantees unstable and high energy costs, rising cost of goods and services, and poor standard of living.

If every policy you put in places is a failure, as such with Brandon's administration, then how do you keep people coming back to you? Only a few proven ways in the political playbook; scare the crap out of them or give them free ****. People are scared of being poor and will take a handout. Its just natural and the left exploits this as its primary means of voter retention.

should we stop all exports and set up an exchange for American oil, cause American oil using the global oil exchange means no matter how much we produce, they use the global exchange

And require American oil companies to start drilling on the 10 million+ acres of untapped oil leases ALREADY IN THEIR POSSESSION by December 31st, or lose 'em and have the leases fall under upcoming EPA/BLM rules when they are auctioned off again.

Biden admin dismisses calls to increase oil production at home as prices soar

Instead he calls for OPEC to increase production.

    He's such a chump.

Why would they increase production when the world needs what they are selling?

And OPEC is probably asking themselves 'does he think we're chumps?'. Brandon is telling us that we don't need oil because alternatives are poised for a instant and massive takeover if Republicans would only pass one $10 trillion dollar 'build crack better' package after another. But then he goes and tells OPEC that we do need oil not only now but for the far-foreseeable future since that's what prospective production means. From their point of view I don't see why they would just march to Brandon's drum. I mean they obviously know he and the prog enviro-propaganda about alt-energy erasing oil in our lifetime is just pure bullshit but at the same rate they know that progs are 100% dedicated to pushing oil out regardless of if there's a replacement.

A few weeks back he said there are 2 ways to stop people from driving gas powered vehicles. One is to make owning and operating a vehicle more expensive.

The other is to make people poorer.

    He's doing both.

And on the note of making people poorer. When gas prices get so high that a substantial number of Americans have no choice but to drastically reduce their consumption what one key metric will interest government the most? Tax revenue. And I think everyone knows damned well that when government comes up short on tax revenue they don't spend less; they just tax something else more.

yes, Trump's threatening foreign oil to reduce supply had an effect, glad the right is finally starting to see that

oil is a global commodity and the price is set by the global exchange

Here you go again with your ignorance. You say this repeatedly yet you leave out the extremely important details that this was when the global covid shutdowns began, oil consumption dropped so low that there was so much excess oil that the price per barrell dropped into negatives threatening jobs and economy overall. Trump did what had to be done at this time. It wasn't an infinite thing that needed to happen, but it's what had to happen at the time. Now if you have nothing of actual substance, stop spreading your misinformation on this topic.

I'm totally on board with ramping up domestic oil and gas production...if that oil and gas stays in the U.S. Not a drop of it should ever leave our shores no matter how much profit it would bring.

Well of course that **** would say that. This marriages right with their wanting to inflate oil prices drastically so we can all get onto these alternate energy resources that don't really exist yet.

Going renewable is fine but you can do both at the same time. The lefts binary thinking of only one thing or the other is astounding.

Yeah, definitely don’t drill here to have major economic benefits for America while putting us in a position to sell our oil to Germany and other Russian oil-dependant countries that would make it easier for them to cut off Russia entirely and add more pressure for Russia to back down, potentially saving countless lives from wars both current and may occur if Russia succeeds.

That would be waaaay too smart for this administration

These people only have a one track mind and that track is, even during a period of ever rising inflation, they want to do everything they can to increase prices of goods and services to the poor. They don't give a damn about the poor. Their agenda is more important.

Why not do both? We all agree on that the ideal situation would be for the US to be energy independent, and insulated from price swings on the world oil market. The latter is unlikely, if we keep relying on fossil fuels for the vast majority of our energy needs. Of course, the usual regressives will claim that renewables are too expensive, no matter if it would be smart to invest into them or not.
