I don't know what's come over me today. I got this big idea about where the whole country needs to go with the issue of gun control.
It could easily start as public service announcements from the FOX network. This would be a series of commercial spots, and maybe even a documentary presentation about the presence of firearms in America, and the need for them.
These would be short pieces, based on real incidents where responsible gun owners use guns to de-escalate dangerous, life threatening situations. The intent would be to educate people about the correct use of firearms in what has been estimated to be anywhere from 500,000 to 2 Million incidents per year where the presence of a firearm has prevented a crime.
One segment should focus on what happens after a deadly shooting. It doesn't go well for anyone, typically. It would inform the gun toting public about responsibility, along with effective crime deterrence. It would inform criminals that the Average Joe is getting smarter. It would clear up a lot of misconceptions about the whole "gun culture" in our country. If it were funded by the NRA, at the end of each message would be the obligatory closing statement: "We're the good guys".

if one wants to rule the country, the first step is to de-educate people. Then plant conspiracies and lies as truth. Ban books or better yet, burn them....
Education has always been the key to a successful society, not hampering the truth. They don't want people to be educated, because that's too easy.
Promote gun education and safety, not fear and terror.

Firearm training and individual self-defense should be a High School elective across the country. Making it elective would mean that if you didn't want your kid to participate that they could take something else. I would also love to see this as a for credit course at colleges.

NOT mandatory at any level of education.

Now let the anti-gun bed wetting begin...

And so it goes. Over the last few years, I've felt that our society has been estranging ME.
When I began Kindergarten, my brother was a member of our HS rifle team, and Dad was a Captain in the Army reserves and Nat'l. Guard, at Camp Williams, in Utah (where the NSA super project is now).
It was a very long way from being the perfect America then, but we were trying very hard to make it that way.
I became a Cub Scout as soon as I could. We had merit badges then for things that get you branded as a terrorist now. The motto was "Be Prepared". That talk gets you marked as a crackpot these days. By the age of 5, I knew how to shoot a rifle, swim, and drive my Dads' '57 VW. I could read and tell time, and knew how to get from one place to another on a map. All that preparation, and fer wut?
