Most Democrats Think Illegal Immigrants Should Vote

Fifty-three percent (53%) of Democrats think tax-paying illegal immigrants should have the right to vote. Twenty-one percent (21%) of Republicans and 30% of voters not affiliated with either major political party agree.

That 53% of Democrats think illegals should vote isn't a surprise. If they keep polling that, I expect those numbers to go up. But 21% of Republicans do? I guess those are Jeb Bush's people.

    The article states:
Does that mean they actually pay taxes or simply file a tax return and then receive back a negative tax, i.e. refund of more than they may have had withheld? Is this is also in regards to state votes and not federal votes?

Doesn't sound too bad of an idea. If they pay taxes, then they should be able to vote, regardless if they are citizens or not. Heck I would take it one step further and say even if they weren't paying taxes they should still be able to vote.

I don't disagree, but shouldn't there be at least ONE benefit to citizenship?

What would the issue be? By giving them a political voice, then we can start fixing abuses in the system.

This is crazy. Not only should illegals not vote, they should not even count in the census since they are here illegally. I sometimes wonder if our laws, passed by congress and signed by the president mean a thing. Apparently not. Now this. I can only shake my head.

    So let me get this straight;
Rass polls 952 Likely Voters, I assume that since the Nation is divided almost equally and Rass spreads their polls in a balanced way then they, and you are claiming that approximately 476 Dems speak for all Democrats? Maybe some here will figure out why polls are not worth the paper they are written on, if they were so accurate then why not just take a poll of 952 likely voters when we elect the President and every other elected official, after all we can trust polls to give us the truth. Good grief folks, polls are not anything more than entertainment and any poll can be manipulated to come up with whatever the person taking the poll wants it to say, you people know that, right?

I have, it's called an influx of knowledge which makes me realize I should question things. So nice dodge, why is it a bad thing?

A poll of this size has a MOE of plus or minus 3% points. The confidence level is that 90% of the time a poll like this will be within 3 points of the numbers given, plus or minus. This is pretty standard with all national reputable polls. Rasmussen is a grade C polling firm. That rating was assigned after a review of 691 polls conducted by Rasmussen.

Not only is it left, but only a traitor or a foreigner would want illegals to vote in United States elections. Im curious to know which category you are in.
Why is it a bad thing? Its illegal, it invalidates United States citizens voters rights, it craps on the veterans who have fought and died to keep our right to votes, our entire nation is based on United States Citizens ability to vote on issues regarding our nation NOT foreigners. What on earth do you think gives foreigners the right to decide what we do in our country?
"influx of knowledge".......hilarious. Id love to know who taught you these things, was it a college professor with a sweater wrapped around his neck? Please give us the source of your knowledge influx. Im studying the left and this is great material for my book.

Giving people who are in our country illegally a political voice IS an abuse of the system.

How are illegals paying taxes when they have no SS# with which to attach them?

    - - - Updated - - -

    Exactly.

Not only is it an abuse - it's destined to undermine the entire nation. One more example of democrats cutting their own throats.

Why is that? If they can vote then they have a reason to want an end to illegal immigration.

    - - - Updated - - -

They go to a store and buy something, they're paying a sales tax. They have a job, the government takes income tax from them.

    1. You didn't say what it has to do with the left.
    2. The answer is neither.

    1. Just because it's illegal now doesn't mean it's going to be illegal in the future.
    2. Nice job bringing veterans into this thread, going for the real patriotic argument now aren't you?
    3. Foreigners? Sounds like you're saying that if a bunch of people immigrate over and settle in a certain area then they will try to influence elections. Which would make sense if you also didn't have to prove that you lived in the US.
    4. As for what gives them a right, let's think of it like this. Let's say they're being used as illegal labor for a company. They want the right to speak out against this company. But they know that if they do then will be fired and possibly exported. So why not then give them a political voice so they can secure their rights and end an abuse to the system?

My teacher? It's the people who dodge when they can't answer my questions. I ask myself why would they dodge if their point actually had any merit to it in the first place? If they have to keep dodging, then it goes to support a different conclusion, that they don't have a real argument at all, or one that they have to hide because people won't buy it.

I think it's perfectly legitimate to question the polling means and methods. However it seems pointless to when this position represents so many people on the progressive end of the political spectrum.

    For example: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=letting+non+citizens+vote

There are lots of proposals to allow non citizens to vote. Like amnesty and gay marriage, I predict this will eventually become one of those "must agree" positions to be considered a legitimate Democrat. Maybe not by 2016, but by 2020 for sure.

Let's face it, you guys are getting crazier and crazier.
