Same reason voting rights didn’t become common sense until the 60s. Same reason “slavery is bad” wasn’t common sense when we founded our nation.

And the reason won't be the Jacobin/Taliban/Democrat cry for the blood of the *other,* nor Stalinist classicide, nor the high value of this idiocy as distraction, nor the patronizing colonial racism of white liberals demanding a change not demanded by those allegedly offended.

It will change not because the name Redskins is offensive, but because the Almighty Greenback is alluring.

Grotesque troll Snyder has been running the team into the ground for decades now, and is dissatisfied with the soulless Landover stadium, still new, but deemed somehow inadequate.

He wants a newer new stadium built, and he wants someone else to pay for it.

He wants the hundreds of millions in sales of new merchandise with the new name emblazoned upon it.

He wants to avoid the spectacle of Taliban/Jacobin liberals attacking, protesting, vandalizing and defacing the team's assets, all in the name of Almighty Distraction.

And he is more than willing to trade an imperfect past for a non-existent future.

The team, and game itself, are doomed for many reasons, and this will become just another minor footnote in the swan song.

There was actually another survey of Native Americans in 2019, and they came to the same result. It turns out that Native Americans aren't offended at everything.

I suspect they're more offended by the fact they have been largely ignored regarding this issue. Who knows more about Native Americans than white millennials in skinny jeans and trendy beards?

Okay, redskins is what we wanted to be sometimes when playing Cowboys and Indians. So I guess if that Navaho girlfriend I had once got rich and bought a team in the Plains, she would be racist for naming it inherently racist "coop counters," which kind of fits with a baseball bat.
