Reparations for Slavery.

@Moriah has previously brought up the 2043 year before, as if the only thing keeping down reparations is that stubborn white majority. However I think that unless there are actual reparations approved before then, it will never happen. 2043 doesn't mean Blacks are ruling the country; census projections have them at about the same percentage of the population (13%) then as now. Hispanics are the tipping point, and the idea that they will be sympathetic to reparations for blacks when it's their country seems highly unlikely.

Virtually every Latin American country had slavery. Any of them pay reparations to their former slaves? Argentina genocided them, so I wouldn't expect cash payments.

There is a strong reaction against these things because they are racially driven. The confer 'advantage' based purely on race. Those who argue in favour of them, are arguing for the same racism we fought against in the 1960s. You start down that road and you undo decades of human rights gains.

So how will you decide who is black when there is no evidence of slave ancestry?

They won't answer any of the important questions .. even the most brutal and crucial (who exactly, is black?). This whole thing is merely an angry pout. If you can't even figure who your target for assistance is, you have nothing.

 

Who's spreading confusion? Those who say NO MORE RACISM? Or those can't even figure out how they'll identify recipients?

 

And there it is. Eugenics. We all know that few people will be able meet the 'paper' evidence challenge, so this is all you really have.

And if you think DNA testing for blackness will answer many questions, your are asking some truly horrifying questions.

LOL at the idea that whites will be absorbed by African Americans though .. that's very funny. America will be Hispanic/Asian/Indian, predominantly. You guys are being 'wiped out' at the same rate as everyone who isn't one of the above.

 

Well I think you can see why there will never be any US reparations for slavery. The supporters can't make a coherent argument on who would qualify.

 

Yes, they know that choosing who is 'black enough' will be deeply objectionable to all decent-minded people - including bona fide slavery descendents who happen to be one drop short.

 

I'm perfectly fine to let the fight go on, since it will be going on for decades in Democratic Presidential primary races and in pointless speeches. At least until the emerging Hispanic population gets tired of that circus and dismisses the whole argument.

 

Concur that Latinx aren't up for this by and large, but no one has to *pay* for anything.
