Republican-Led States Continue to Lead in Economic Recovery Through March

….14 of the top 20 states led by Republican governors are doing a better job than any of the states led by Democrat governors. And 16 of the top 20 recovering states have Republican-controlled legislatures; Republicans entirely control the top four states.

Additionally, 11 of the top 13 states — Utah, Idaho, Montana, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Arizona, Arkansas, South Dakota, and Indiana — are entirely led by Republicans and have more people working now than they had before the coronavirus pandemic started and any restrictions were put in place, as shown in the chart below under “Percent of Lost Jobs Recovered.’

Since the pandemic started, Utah has recovered 154.8 percent of its jobs, Idaho 148 percent, Montana 125 percent, Texas 116.7 percent, Florida 112.2 percent, Georgia 112.1 percent, Tennessee 112 percent, Arizona 109.8 percent, Arkansas 109.6 percent, South Dakota 105.6 percent, and Indiana 100.9 percent.

The analysis also showed that all Republican-led states have recovered at least two-thirds of the jobs lost during the pandemic. On average, Republican-led states have recovered 98 percent of their lost jobs from the pandemic…

This is no surprise at all. GOP states are leading our national economic recovery from the China virus. GOP states didn’t need federal bailout money like blue states that stayed locked down much longer did. Republican economic, energy, regulatory, and tax policies are far better than what democrats do.

 

Republican states have done far better than democrat ones with regard to economic growth, GDP growth, job growth, increasing revenues. The charts are quite telling.

 

It's hard for the democrat led states to have good economic growth when the states are riddled with crime and lenient on criminals. But they're trying to balance the books by defunding the police.

 

So, you are arguing that GOP led states have a command economy now?

When it comes to jobs and the number of jobs available, no politician should take credit period. Don't care if they are Republican, Democrat or whatever political party fancies you.

 

When you look at the states with the highest per capita crime rates, South Dakato is at number 10. Texas is at number 16, California is at number 17. Arkansas is at number 5, Idaho is at number 43, Florida is at number 25, and Montana is at number 12. All based on 2019.

And if you look at 2021, then Texas is at #5, Florida is at #3, and Arkansas is at #4. The second link only provifes the top 10 here.

Your argument doesn't hold water based on 2019 statistics.

No. Democrats have a command economy. They commanded that theirs lock down long and reopen slow. Republicans are close to a full free market low taxes, fewer regulations economy model.

 

When you look at the crime in those republican states, you will find that it occurs mainly in metropolitan cities with a democrat mayor and city council.

 

Personally I think GDP is a **** indicator of how a state is doing. Quality of life and happiness should be what indicates a healthy state, not GDP or economic growth. We have our priorities screwed up in this country.
