…Dahle will announce his candidacy on the lawn of the Redding Civic Auditorium at noon, according to an aide who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak publicly before the announcement was made. A news release says only Dahle will make a “major announcement.”

"Californians are generous people. We are bonded together by hard work, a belief in family and community. People want to believe again in the California Dream. The consequences of failure are too great,” Dahle said in the news release. “I want to continue to be part of achieving that dream.”

Dahle was on the Lassen County Board of Supervisors for 16 years before being elected to the state Assembly in 2012. He was elected to the state Senate in 2019. Megan Dahle replaced her husband in the state Assembly….

    T
his is great news! My state Senator is going to take on the evil Gavin Newscum for Governor of California. It’s great to see someone from this part of the state running for statewide office.

Sen. Dahle has been a good assemblyman and senator. Redding, Ca. the largest city in his big district and where he will officially announce his candidacy.

I doubt any change will come to california...certainly not in the form of a republican.

Though I would love to be proven wrong.

And it is good to see Republicans on the offensive. We can lose elections in california 100 times...we just need to win it once and then do a good job.

There are more illegal invaders in California than there are Republican voters. The state just needs to be broken up.

Why do California Governors & Senators
all come from the north when the
south has the people / voters?

    Vote Southern California!

I’m all in favor of that! Either Jefferson or Greater Idaho would be much better.

California is no longer divided north vs south except in sports but it’s real division is west vs East or coastal vs inland. All you mentioned are coastal where the bulk of the people are.

    Is too!

And the political philosophy of each party
is similarly split between north & south.

    Both Republicans & Democrats from
the south tend to be more moderate.
    Pete Wilson. The Arnold.
Democrats from the north are too loyal to
their ideology. The Bay Area Dynasties.
Pelosi. Feinstein. Newsom. Harris all being north.
    and we now separate trash to one of 3 groups;
Green lid garbage cans plus Blue & Black ones.
And 3 garbage trucks per trash day.
Product of Bay Area dynastic Democrats
    There are better ways.
Before the new State Law on trash localities managed
their way. I always appreciated my trash was picked
up mixed and sorted later by the sanitation district.
Maybe one system vs the other should be comparison tested

    Coast vs Inland.
Not so sure about it being a bigger influence
    than north & south

So, let’s take two Northern California cities, Redding and Eureka/Arcata. Now let’s take a Northern California city Redding and Southern California city Bakersfield, both inland. Do you think Redding has more in common with Eureka or Bakersfield?

    Never been to Redding
Eureka is unique. Lumber Jacks & hippies peacefully live together
    with retired folks.
My guess is Redding & Marysville have more in common
with Bakersfield & Barstow based on welfare populations
Besides - the #'s are not significant compared to L.A. vs Bay Area
    where the voters are.

That’s the point of the inland vs coastal divide. There was a big population imbalance in the old days of the north/south divide too. The inland valley and Sierra foothills and high desert are much in common with each other and not with the coast. You’ve never been on I-5 going north from Sacramento toward Portland/Seattle?

It’s just great to have an advocate for the rural inland part of the state in the running for Governor.

Well done... that's EXCEPTIONALLY hard to do...

What's this candidates name?? Need to imprint that on my memory, since there will probably be a dozen people running for the right to get pounded by Newsom....

I need to remember THIS guy however, for some reason....

His name is Brian Dahle. He’s a state Senator in California. His wife Megan Dahle is our state Assembly woman. It will be the first time in a long time that a far northern inland elected official who is a farmer will be representing inland and rural interests state wide in a campaign.

No. If he loses he still has two years left of his state senate term.
