at what proportion-should those paying twice the share of the income tax than their share of the income pay a higher increase than those who say are in a group that pays one third of the tax burden share as their share of the income?

the pandering by politicians won't stop until the target of their pandering suffers from this spending through tax increases.

At a point sufficient to fund the government's appropriated expenditures.

which to you means there is no limit on what people should pay in a system that encourages politicians to buy votes and pander more and more. The current tax system encourages a spending malignancy by politicians.

Those who benefit most from government do not have the wherewithal to pay the most taxes. Those who benefit most from our society have the means and obligation to pay the taxes required to fund our appropriated expenditures.

There is certainly the potential for abuse. But decades (generations, actually) of experience demonstrate, conclusively in my view, that we cannot economize our way out of debt.

nor has constantly increasing taxes. when that happens-as Britain found out-the most prosperous move away. which is why most of Britain's top athletes and rock stars were living in places such as the USA and Monte Carlo. BTW Monte Carlo-if allowed to use the tennis stars that live there in the Davis Cup or Olympics-would never lose to any other nation state in a team tournament

It's not coercion if you recognize your obligation. And in a democracy we are all obliged to accept outcomes contrary to our own wishes -- until we can change them democratically.

There is a sweet spot. What is certain is that unending, increasing debt is the road to ruin.

I don't support democracy-I like a constitutional republic and I think our biggest problem is representation without taxation

No. Only until we're collecting enough to pay for the government we have voted for.

We should be paying for what the US constitution lists as the responsibilities of the federal government.

For some reason liberals think the federal government has unlimited power and we should be taxed accordingly.
