….Republicans in the House are revving up a vast investigatory apparatus to probe everything from vaccine injury and COVID-19 origins to FBI politicization and the Hunter Biden scandal.

And the first fruits of that oversight work may be released even before the holidays, a deep look into what congressional leaders and Capitol Police executives knew about threats prior to the Jan. 6, 2021 riot and their failures to prepare security adequately.

Republicans have the bulldogs in the House Oversight Committee's Rep. James Comer and the House Judiciary Committee's Rep. Jim Jordan to conduct the hard-charging oversight and accountability that escaped the House GOP under ex-Speaker Paul Ryan.

But first they need the tools.

One essential question that needs to be resolved as early as this week is whether the House chairmen will be given unilateral authority to issue subpoenas under the GOP rules package or be forced to get a committee vote where Democrats or one recalcitrant Republican can foil an investigation.

Likewise, the chairmen need an enforcement tool for federal witnesses or agencies who don't comply readily. That's because the Biden DOJ is unlikely to help.

Lawmakers like Comer want to revive the Civil War-era Holman Rule, which allows Congress to defund the office, program or salary of a witness not complying with congressional subpoena or oversight authority, a powerful tool for both legal compliance and budget cutting….

Democrats have been dreading this day for two years. It’s finally here. The GOP has a lot of work to do now.

I can’t wait to see what is unearthed and brought to the surface, it’s about time that we find out!

After seeing 1/6 get mentioned in about half the threads on this board, I thought the left would like to see more of it.

I'd love to see nationally televised hearings on network prime time tv about the china virus and FBI weaponization. The china virus killed millions of people and the vaccine seems to have made lots of people lose their jobs, not be able to attend school and certainly made plenty of people very, very rich.

    I'm down for covid hearings.

I still think it's childish to call it the China-virus.

What??? You're telling me they're not going to investigate fraud in the 2020 elections? That should be considered dereliction of duty!

They need to keep election deniers on the news for at least two more years. I mean... it worked so well for them in the midterms....

BTW, I loooove Congressional Investigations. There are only two outcomes possible: either they reveal a crime, and we all win because a criminal goes to prison, or the investigators make complete fools of themselves and end up having to exonerate the targets by having to admit that they committed "no criminal acts". Hillary must be thrilled. It's been too long since the last time she was exonerated. And she was getting exonerated like.... three or four times a year...

Kinda reminds you of another thread this poster opened four years ago, in which he said...

I sure hope they find something, or this poster is going to explode with anticipation...

I’m down, let’s investigate why Trump held his rally when he knew his people would get violent, and why he invented a dangerous vaccine

    Spot on, Golem...
All of this "We're Gonna Get The Big Bad Dems, This Time" reminds me of "Bucket 5"...

Did it come from somewhere else? Was it childish to call the Spanish flu by that name or virtually all diseases after where we think they started. China has so many Americans by their balls and pulling their puppet strings to distract from their responsibility for the virus and its spread.

Well, since the Spanish flu started in Kansas, it was inaccurate.

lol, more proof that republicans and democrats are just 2 elements of the same faction. Silly political games, exactly like what the democrats did.
